Car died today
When I turned the car on, I put it in reverse to back out, then when I put it in drive is just suddenly died. Turned it back on and everything was fine. I had to reset my "periodic inspection" light also. Will the Periodic inspection light shut the car off?
I dunno it's just weird how it died. Anyone chime in on this?
thanks

According to your wife? Unless she's mechanically inclined.......................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..
It's happened to me once when I first got my RA. I was pulling out of a parking space, backed up and then put it in drive. when I went to take my foot off the brake I kinda eased it off slowly and then had to re-ingauge the brake cause someone ran out in front of me. It died as I was pressing the brake back down. It was as if the letting off and then quickly re-ingauging the brake didn't allow the clutches to act quick enough and it killed it instead.

Maybe she thought it's an automatic where you can just shift from reverse into drive while the car is slightly moving and the clutches didnt werent allowed to engage...
Nope.. just a realist. As there are FAR FEWER women than men who are mechanically inclined. This doesn't mean that I take the word of most men either, because I don't. I've worked on enough cars where the owners tried to describe to me the problem, and it just so happened to be that the funniest explanations were from chicks - but I still love 'em (unless they're ugly)
This happened to me once, I was in a parking lot, I started it, when I switched the tranny to D, it stalled on me, for no "apparent" reason, I turned the car back on and it hasn't happened since, no clue why it happened.
