Hey, thanks for your replies guys. I actually drove all those cars except the genesis haha. My feel is IS250: maybe in my 30s probably not when I am in my 20s haha, awesome car though its so comfortable. Also the IS250 according to what I heard tends to have higher maintenance cost due to their engine bay layouts and such(dont quote me>.<) I am going for a 0% finance rate as far as I can see. Ralliart seems more of a drivers car than a IS250 when I drove them both. Last question is no one heres got tranny problems so far? Thanks!

I would agree the ralliart is totally more a driver's car than the is250, although that car performs well too.

About the tranny... It really has been untested. It performs well, everyone knows that. We won't have any sense of durability/problems for another year or two. It's really hard to ascertain how good the tranny is on a forum like this because it seems a lot of people on here launch their cars and make other ill-advised moves that jeopardize its reliability.

If you want to launch a bit more and track your car, you are definitely looking at an evo GSR. Even then... these cars ARE NOT drag cars. They can do it well, but they aren't designed for it and therefore break a whole lot faster than cars like a mustang that are built for drag abuse.

As I said before every car I considered (and most people looking at RA consider) all cost roughly 40k (fully loaded is a must for me) or more. even the mini is 40kish fully loaded, and with the exception of the WRX none are awd, which is a must for me, I drive 55+ kilometers each way (110/day)just for work everyday (well 6 sometimes 7 days a week). The new WRX is impressive, but I just couldn't get over the new looks, I really don't like it :/ As for money, I can easily afford the EVO MR fully loaded, it just wasn't a practical DD car for me, and to be honest I don't rally or race so what would be the point of spending about 12k more plus the extra gas, and insurance? There really isn't that many AWD cars out there. And yes us Canadians do get screwed on car prices and definitely on taxes.

Its only 13% tax. Plus AC tax.

The taxes are rape, for sure. But a similar equipped US model Ralliart is $28,000, and the Canadian model, after exchange is $29,000USD. So it isn't that much different.

And the GDP on both countries is almost the same ($45k vs $46k, CAN/US respectively)

Stunning phone call I got last night, a salesman called me from a different mitsubishi dealer which I requested for a test drive before. I told ihm the quote I got, 36k tax in out the door, he said he can beat it. Then I asked him how much more if I added premium package? 38K tax in. That car's MSRP+5k(premium package)=39k isn't it? That price I might jus go get it next week haha.

That is pretty good, but if the salesman said it and not the GM I don't think I would believe him. Definately worth the time to look at that price, my base was more than that with taxes and fees.

$36K out the door for the base model sounds right for invoice pricing. I'd be skeptical about the $38K out the door for the Premium package though...sounds too good to be true (then again you never know). Most dealers in the GTA have only a handful of RAs in stock so I doubt you'll be seeing massive savings like in the US. Its not a case of large supply and low demand that drive the prices down, for us its low supply and low demand.

If the salesman says $38k out the door for the Premium package i'd run to that dealer tomorrow and getting it in writing, its a good price...if they're not BSing.

Out of curiosity was it a saleman from Brampton?

Hahah I want the GSR too but need an auto sadly... The salesman called from Plaza Mitsu, think its on Yonge St and Steeles. I dont think I can go wrong with that, but I might jus get a base and see if I cna lower the price again. Thanks guys!

Went to the dealer on saturday, i told him I got offered 36k and the manager basically said "i don't believe you because you got no paper work, so no, i will only give you $500 discount." So i just left. Went back to the first dealer I was with, didn't work out there either. Any one got something that can help me out?T-T

did you leave your phone numbers with these dealers?
My $0.02, don't go back to either one of them, they'll call you back asking if you're still interested and say yes but can only afford $xxxxx but you're in no rush. Remember they need you more then you need them. If you go back you'll look like you really like the car and want it badly.

Go to a dealer you've never visited and go straight to a salesman and say this is my offer and can they offer it, and be prepared to leave right away.

good luck.

Paper work? That manager is being a dumbas_ with excuses cause you'll never get anything in writing from any dealer with regard to your haggled price or their offer.

$500 off MSRP?

Gotta play hardball with these morons.
