Ralliart? or no ralliart?

Hey guys, I've been ghosting around here since I started considering the 09 ralliart. Only thing holding me back is the tranny. Alot of you guys experience that or what? Also any one from toronto can tell me what they paid for theirs if they can? Thanks!

I love the transmission. Not sure about durability or anything but I have drove one a few times and I think its awesome. Also they are around $28k in the US, not sure about canada though.

I suppose it all depends on what you want. If you plan to build it up and put 350 whp and/or wtq down, then stay away from this transmission. If you want a daily driver with outstanding performance then this is a great car.

The transmission handles just fine and in fact, has a few advantages over manual transmissions. It also has it's draw backs, mostly in terms of how much hp/tq you can throw at it anything over 320 and you will see slipping.

But honestly, if you plan to build up a car like this and throw tons of hp/tq under the hood, then you should be looking at an Evo X GSR anyway.

DD = RA FTW.

For a DD, the Ralliart is perfectly fine. It comes with plenty of features, nice seats, it looks good and it can be modded to be decently quick and handle well. If you want to track, I would recommend you look elsewhere, perhaps at an Evo X GSR. The transmission is simply not built to be abused.

Just under 40K$ gets you into STI and Evo territory.

Premium package $40k plus taxes (wouldn't move on the price, I left dealer, still wouldn't budge) I ordered color and options I wanted cause same price as the ones on the lot, so why not get exactly what I wanted. 46k out the door :/ (I know expensive, but I wanted the car) basically all the cars I considered were in the same price range (with the options I wanted) considered a wrx, ralliart....even looked for a second at the mini, and BMW 1 series. All around the same price with the options I wanted (though might have been able to deal a bit on them, but not the RA, I considered the eclipse too, I could've dealt on that, they told me outright they could work some good numbers on that, but not the RA).

EDIT:
Now you might get them down a bit, getting closer to end of the 09 year runs. (and yes I could've gotten a base GSR for slightly less, but with none of the options I wanted. When I buy a car I want all the toys, I spend alot of time in my car, I use all the options I have (with the exception maybe of the sunroof)

You guys are way out of your minds

A base Ralliart is $26,500
A fully Loaded Ralliart is $33,900 . . . . . . NOT $46,000
A base Evo X (GSR) is $33,000 . . . . . . NOT $40,000
A base Evo X MR is $38,600 . . . . . . . NOT $40,000
A fully Loaded Evo X MR is $45,000 . . . . . . Definitvely NOT $46,000

If you paid $46,000 for your '09 Ralliart, you my friend have been ultimately raped and handed your *** to you.

What a shame.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, that's CANADA. Still raped nonetheless

In Canada the GSR is roughly 40000$ (39998$) while the MR is roughly 50000$ (47498$).

American cars are far cheaper, period.

A $20000 US car generally sells here for almost $30000.

We also have 2 sales taxes, provincial and Federal.

My base RA was $34400 and taxes in was $39xxx

I bought both my M3 and 911 from the US and both times saved about $10k

What other cars have you looked at? It would be important to know what the other choices are. I don't think any of us are going to say don't buy an RA, we all just got one and it is still new to us.
