Tpms ?
I'm looking at getting another set of wheels for my Ralliart. That way I can use the stock wheels for winter and the new wheels for summer. With the new wheels I was looking at getting new TPMS sensors with them from Tire Rack. With new TPMS sensors what do you have to do to get the system to recognize them? I looked in the Evo X forum but that thread seems to just go in circles with no answer besides go back to the dealer which I don't trust them to even change my oil.
i can't give you an exact answer but i hope this helps some. i did the same and the tire store i bought the tires from took the factory (TPMS) out of the advans (they're in the air valve) and put them on my new kuhmo's. I have the kuhmo's on enkei's now and this winter will get pirelli sotozero's and put them on the stock rims. I'd advise going to a tire specialty store or your dealer and talk to them.
I have run circles around this myself last year when I changed wheels. the only way seems to be the dealer. Apparently they have a specific procedure for sensor calibration that is only Mitsu possible. I eventually had to cough up the dough for the oem sensors to get it to work right after trying to go through a wheel specialty dealer for other sensors.
good luck otherwise!

You need to get your new sensors from Tire Rack, they will balance the tires and send it all ready to you (assuming you're getting wheels + Tires + Sensors + Bolts);
Then you have to take your car to the dealer and have them re-calibrate the system. It's 90+ bucks depending of the dealer I guess; If you take your wheels out and put your stocks back in winter you will then again get the "Service Required" TPMS message on your display.
Hope that helps

That's the problem.... whenever you swap wheels/tires you'll get that tpms message so it doesn't really make sense going through that, unless you don't care bout leaving the message annoy you for 2-3 months (for as long as winter stays around) or paying the re-calibration every winter
I'm trying to figure out if how to do this myself also cause I've paid 94 bucks TWICE!!! for me and my wife's ES since I installed my stock on her car;
Sucks!

Yup, sounds like a pain in the ***. I guess I'll either have to make some phone calls to local shops and see if they have the TPMS tool to program new sensors or buy the tool myself. I'll be damned if I'm paying the dealer $180 a year for something they'd probably screw up anyway. I don't think that Bartec Trackside tool will work to put the ECU in learn mode to recognize new sensors from what I read. Won't know I guess until Bartec returns my email.

I can see how the TPMS calibration is a real pain for the do-it-yourself mechanic crowd, but if you're so set on that, then just pull the TPMS from each existing wheel and mount them on the corresponding new wheels. Problem solved -- provided you have the proper equipment to put tires on wheels, of course.
I just get my dealer to swap the wheels; they seemed to do the re-calibration for free, though it's probably hidden in the labour charge. It wasn't unreasonably expensive compared to other shops where I've had wheels swapped (with no TPMS), but it isn't as cheap as doing it yourself, of course.

Hondas system automatically re learns the positions on their own.
We use the Bartec Wheelrite Tech 400 plus here at the shop. It plugs into your diagnostic port and it does all the work in under a minute or so.
