Ralliart DD
Like i said it varies school to school i suppose. I figured where you park should be a factor no matter what you drive.
Coming from a current college student:
Don't dorm! lol Public parking sucks (for a new car); unless your living in an apartment complex with a fenced garage. I've parked on campus a few times at SF State; SJSU; Irvine; and a few others and have seen the residents' cars and I park an extra 2 rows away from people just in case.
You need to realize with this car your going to most likely love it but you'll be scared to take it to places where people get drunk and stupid (most college places).
I have two cars; 1 beater for work and an R//A for play & trips.
I'm not going to lecture you about driving because I feel your responsible enough to know what your doing behind the wheel. Just don't get stupid and you'll be fine. The car is quick, QFT.
"Is the insurance expensive? Is the car worth it? How much do you guys think I can get the Ralliart for? I'm not sure if I want recaro or navi."
in response to your original post:
- I don't pay insurance
- I feel the car is worth every penny
- No clue how cheap your going to get it; be prepared to walk and not look back if they are charging you MSRP
- Recaro package (IMO not worth it)
- Navi package (If you feel like having a Hard Drive & dvd player in your car is worth 2k (the dvd player to my knowledge won't play while in drive))
"My driving style isn't *******ish. I'm a nice driver hahaha. I don't know, there's so many *******s on the road today I just don't want to be part of that. I don't drive that fast either I tend to stay near the speed limit, but just higher by a little bit."
In the R//A you won't feel your going fast until you look at the other cars falling behind you or until you look down onto your speedometer. It is that smooth on open road.
But sounds to me like your already sold on the car. If you test drive the R//A your not going ever want to get into a base lancer.

I wasn't even talking about People riding in it messing it up. I'm talking about all the ******* idiots opening doors into my car, people keying it, trying to break into it. I had a beautiful 87 Mustang GT with T-tops. went to University of Cincinnati (which requires Freshman class to live on campus when I was there) and people just don't respect other people's property.
Lucky you, I feel like most people here who believe that most walking around lack a sense of respect for other peoples' stuff. When I went to college in the small *** city of Whitewater Wisconsin my car accrued a lot of random scrapes and dings from sitting in dorm and apartment parking lots. Door dings and scrapes I can handle but some ***** rod keyed the **** out of my car and that's just plain ****ing disrespectful. I drove a damn Pontiac Grand Am '96 back then, so I didn't look or feel like hot ****... I still wonder what was going on through that guy's head who keyed my car, "Look at this rich bastard! Take this Aaaaaaahhhhh!"
