Ralliart manual transmission
I had a 2003 Lancer and loved it and am now driving a Mazda 3. It's time to start looking at new cars and I felt like the Ralliart Lancer was right up my alley with the AWD and nice balancer of power, performance and styling.
Why doesn't Mitsubishi get that we want the option to have a MANUAL TRANSMISSION on a car like this?? I'm sick of these retarded "paddle shifters". I'm bummed because this was an easy sale if they simply had a manual transmission. I'm tired of driving and automatic and the last thing I want for a new car is a glorified slushbox automatic. I look at the Lancer GT and it's lethargic by comparison. What's the deal ??
Are they bringing the Ralliart back in 2014 and will they offer a manual?

To get you to pony up the extra 8k for an evo that's why.
I'm not saying I agree with it because I too would have opted for a true manual as well but I see their thinking with this. I think people would be buying a lot less evos and going for the ralliart and just modding them past evo performance.
Have you actually driven a ralliart yet? It's far from a "slush box automatic". This isn't your typical auto with a manual mode. The dual clutch is great once you learn to use it. If your still not happy just go but a wrx

must admit, mitsubishi missed a great opportunity for the RA by not offering it in manual - could have really challenged the dominance of the wrx etc...
that being said, i would have still chosen the sst

I agree w/ OP, but have learned to love the SST.
And if it is a deal-breaker for you, yes, WRX is the next best thing.
I shift it manually all the time after coming from all manual cars -because i am still way smarter than the s/w for this tranny.

if ur looking for fun manual go wrx... but if u want fun and to mod i would go RA as it has the same motor as evo, where as the wrx has dif internals than sti and is more costly to upgrade past a certain point.

Please understand that there are many types of "auto". The new technology allow engineer to product an auto for sport car and even better than a manual.
Try the SST first before making any conclusion. It is not that bad, and it shift 100% fast than a "true" manual transmission. The only downside that I can think of is the weight.
Look at the fastest "stock" car in the world. Most of them are auto transmission similar to SST. These auto transmission is built for sport performance.

I drove one once and it felt like driving a computer. I enjoyed it but it wasn't near the thrill of my evo. I have also drove an X MR and I would say for the money I'd take it. Still prefer my VIII though. I don't mind the SST but just the thought of having to replace it makes me want to avoid it.
As others have said, a standard manual transmission would've been nice to have, but after driving and living with the TC-SST on a daily basis I actually find it quite enjoyable. If I were to get a second car to go along with the Ralliart, though, it would have to be a normal manual. One dual clutch is enough.
I to agree that Mitsu missed an opportunity with the Ralliart but i see their thinking behind it. After having my Ralliart for a year i can say i freakin love it. Not having to use the clutch is a plus for me when racing. The SST is not some stone gear box this thing is lighting fast. There will always be purest who say they wont drive anything but a MT but thats not to say the SST is bad its just preference. I honestly would love to convert an RA to MT and see what its like but have another one with just the OEM SST. WRX is your other option

However, I think it is a high risk to change the gear box unless you or the technical know what he is doing.
Worth to notes that SST is actually faster for most people. Manual would be faster only if the driver is good in manual. In most of the case, they are not.
