Damage from going air borne?

Was enjoying the winding country roads up in the catskills a little too much and inadvertently went airborne over a rise in the road, not too much, my best guess was maybe a foot or so.

Landed on the dowhill side of the transition. Car was smooth when it came back down, heard the suspension making a small clicking sound and the shocks absorbed it all, didn't bottom out or anything. So that seemed ok. Does it damage the motor mounts to load and unload the car like that? Im guessing nothing more harmful than driving through potholes in NYC right?

I'm sure everything is fine. If you think NYC potholes are bad, come take a trip up to where I live! Just to give you an idea, "The city fills about 400,000 potholes a year."

I always thought that none of the stock Evo's had rally ready suspensions.

I know in the RA manual, they probably suspected people might be a little rough with it and there's a specific section that says do not drive on rough roads, probably cause the suspension's set up so stiff.

Makes driving in NYC a pretty hairy experience.

i accidently caught air on my way into boston because of the construction on 93. usually when the sign says "bump" its not that bad, this time it was worse haha. not a good time. my friend and i both hit the roof. i take it super slow through there now.

Your alignment might get a little messed up. Or a lot messed up. I've gotten my RA airborne a few times on a nice hill near my house. Plenty of lift, and through the air for maybe a car length. 130kmh off the crest, and still a smooth landing.

I dont do this any more. alignments cost too much.

Did it mess up your alignment right away? Or did it take some time before you realized?

What area are you from? Check out here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/to...ncer-club-305/
and bring your RA to one of the meets. And save that sort of driving for one of our track events!

Based on the description, it likely did nothing at all. Don't make a habit out of it, despite the marketing, there isn't a Mitsubishi out there that is designed for rally abuse straight out of the factory.

Right

they're rally "inspired" . . . not rally "ready"
