RA won't start!!!
Ok so for the past two weeks or so, my RA would have a little trouble starting up. Took a longer crank than usual to get going. So I didnt think much of it, until three days ago, my car wouldn't start.
I had my brother, who is a mechanic, come over and check it out. He spent a good 20 minutes looking around and trying to get it to start, and he had thought it was the fuel pump. So I brought it into the dealer the next day, and I got a call yesterday saying that it was ready to be picked up. Apparently on the invoice, the cause of the problem was "found in system stored code for P01320. Will cause idle step to lose memory." And to fix it they "reprogrammed engine controller as per update."
Has anyone else had to get this update? Or does anyone else have a problem starting up? My car is running good and no problems since, if youhave a problem I'd bring it in for this update!

One time last week it cranked for 4 seconds, then it started. I was also worried about this but so far this has not happened again and I have had no other problems starting the engine.
When I asked the dealership service department about it they said Mitsubishi was aware of it and informed them that once in a while, and not with every single one, the Lancers, as an isolated incidents with the non-Evo's, could take a bit longer to crank and start, but it is not a serious issue.
I figured mine must have been a computer incident because of how it happened and didn't happen again.
If mine fails to start again I will let you know.

My ralliart did this once - took about 4 seconds to start - scary.
Have also noticed that it seems to take longer to start after a lot of rain.
If the f*** thing doesn't start on me in the winter I will be so mad.
I want to get an engine block heater on it, but I think I will be getting a fancy car cover for it.
Think Mitsubishi should apply the update when those of us with recalled ralliarts take them in

This happened to me last night as I was leaving work. It wouldn't start the first two times I turned the key, but the third time around, the car started up. This is the first time it's happened to me though.
There is a re-flash for an issue of check engine light coming on and off. It also takes care of a tranny shifting issue. I also have read that it will help with hard starting.
Call your service center and see if there are any TSBs or recalls for your VIN number.
When I went in, one of the screens showed no TSBs or recalls but some "master" screen (that is what they called it) had the recall of the fuel line and the TSB for the engine light issue (my code was a "lean" condition).
Call the dealer and ask if your car needs a TSB performed.
