Post Upgrading speakers - what say you?

Was looking at either the..

Infinity Reference 6022si

$70

Kicker 07DS600
$50

To replace the front door and rear door speakers.
At the moment the speakers are the only thing I would be changing ....planning to put on a GPS touchscreen head unit in the future, probably a Clarion or Pioneer...and later down the line maybe adding a subwoofer...

All comments, suggestions, insults welcome

memphis speakers are pretty decent. I like the sound of focals as well. I generally try to buy older speakers, such as: old school dynaudio, a/d/s, orion, boston acoustics, MB Quart. Most of the new speakers on the market are mass produced in China and sound the same to me.

upgrading the speakers will help a bit, but upgrading the factory head unit as well will do the most good to clean up the sound

Much better Kickers available. I also wouldn't order from Crutchfield. You pay the premium. I ordered mine from soniceletronix.com. waaayyyyyy cheaper, most of the time it's just because they are older models...big whoop.

OP, just a point you need to consider, make sure the speakers you are getting, i am assuming you're only looking at components for now, have some sort of adaptor kit or you are prepared to put some effort into installing your new speakers because the factory speakers in the car DO NOT bolt in. they are a twist-in style, so its gonna take a little creativity or destruction, whichever you prefer to call it, in order to fit in a set of aftermarket speakers. good luck

I would also not expect the new speaks to perform well off the factory head unit....as for the adapter... just make a 3/4 inch ring your speaker will fit in. Done.

+1 JL audio

This. Pretty pointless to replace speakers without first replacing the headunit.

focals for the doors/tweets. JL for the sub. You won't be disappointed.
