Anyone run sythetic?

I think the owners manual reccommended that you run sythetic oil. I was debating on putting it in @ my first oil change. Does any run it now?

^+1, Honstly you will feel better if you do it yourself. Personally after getting an oil change done the first time by someone else and the cost and amount of trust needed to let a Jiffy lube or other place do it bothers me.

A box of R.P cost me 96.00$ I haven't price checked Amsoil.

Nothin but synth for me. I think it is 5w in there now, but when the temps hit freezing, I'll switch to 0w (manual say so)

I agree with the trust issue, and I can't stand Jiffy Lube, they are almost worst then dealers

Go to Walmart and get Mobil 1 jug for $22 and a filter for $10(depends on brand). Walmart charges $60 or so and a LubeX, Jiffy Lube, etc will be about that. Dealers charge $90-100 for Mobil 1 change. Don't be lazy, take an hour on a weekend and save yourself $60-70 and put that money towards mods
Amsoil is great and I've ran it in all my cars(except the RA). Honestly though for over double the price of Mobil 1, its a waste cause u can't get the full benefits from it. Amsoil is designed to last way longer without breaking down compared to other synthetics. They say it lasts 25000 miles or 1 year. I can imagine what would say when u bring it in for work and only did 1 oil change in a year. "NO WARRANTY FOR YOU!"

Changing your own oil won't void a warranty...nor using Amsoil

What benefits from Amsoil can you not benefit from? Find your total price for Mobil1 and the total price for Amsoil. Yea, Amsoil may cost me 50-60 dollars for a single oil chg in one year but that cost divided monthly is $5 or about $15 every three months. I don't understand why everyone claims Amsoil is expensive.

Even if it would cost more isn't the protection and peace of mind worth it?

Castrol 0W-30 Full Synthetic. ALWAYS run synthetic in a turbocharged car. A full oil change with synthetic can be done for $30 on the cheap (if you do it yourself).

I didn't say using Amsoil will void your warranty, but if u only change your oil every 25000miles like Amsoil suggests and have an engine warranty issue, Mits will say too bad, U only did 1 oil change instead of the 5 on our service chart(Miss 1 maybe 2 of their suggested oil changes and they might do the work depending on the dealer but 5 no way). If u don't want issues from your dealer(as u know some are hard *sses) u will be doing oil changes every 5000miles or close to so IMO $60 for Amsoil over $22 for Mobil 1 isn't worth it to me. The main thing u won't benefit from is the long extended periods between oil changes. You said "isn't the protection and peace of mind worth it? " If u follow the Mits service schedule, any of the synthetics on the market would be more then adequate for 5000 miles. Also when I dealt with my local Amsoil dealer with my other cars, if u were using it for a year, he said that he would only do that if u took samples of your oil to get sent away to see if it was still holding up. If not, how do u know that the Amsoil isn't completely broken down after 9 or 10 months(maybe there was still some conventional oil from the factory still left in your engine which lowers the length Amsoil will last as stated on their site) and are doing damage for the next few months? I ain't hating on Amsoil, I really liked the stuff.
