What is this Dynamat stuff? I had a quick look on the website and there are quite a lot of options and products. Do you fit it yoursefl inside your door panels? Sounds interesting.

it is basically like a rubber/tar substance that has tin foil on one side you it doesnt stick to you while you apply it. Yes you can fit it yourself or pay someone to do whatever you like. I did it all my self its pretty easy just buy a big box of it. Just take your door panels off and rub down the inside of the door and cut little squares of the dynomat and place it like a checker board on the inside. you can also do it in the trunk, and fenders. it helps a lot!

So I got my RA back from the body shop today (fully detailed inside and out) and finally got to install the HKS drop in, UR mini-muffler test pipe and UICP. The test pipe is "as advertised" and is definitely the quietest thing out there. You can't even tell that the original cat has been replaced!!! My wife didn't even know that I installed it, and she hates loud cars! The only difference in noise is with the HKS drop in, you can actually hear the turbo spool which is nice IMO. No fart cannons here!

Just the test pipe for now......I'm trying to avoid all the noise as well. I will probably add the rest of the the TBE in the summer.

Thanks for all the great info. I'm definitely going to look into this if my turbo back exhaust turns out to be as loud as I suspect it will be. Can I ask you what pack of dynamat you bought specifically and how much of your car did it cover? The four doors only or did you do the trunk etc as well. Thanks again.

^ um ya i cant remember the exact bax i got it was the biggest one i could get i think it was around like 150 for it if i remember correctly and it covered all four doors, trunk lid, and the rest of the trunk. When you you lay it down in the trunk make sure you clean the parts where you going to apply it and dont forget to put in under the spare tire as well. its amazing the difference it makes in the car.
