buying a ralli soon but..

hi, im going to be buying a ralliart in a month or so but im have trouble with the features. Im looking for a wicked white with just the Rockford fosgate sound system and a sunroof + some other small features. The dealership im trying to get this from is saying oo we might not be abul to do this it only comes in a package bleh bleh bleh. cant they just take out the projectors and the seats and poof problem solved? and can they put a sunroof in also, because the guy im talking to riley doesn't sound like he knows anything about cars, sounds like a ricer, ""o well mitsubishi decided with these single scroll turbos they are saving weight so it adds better traction"" i know it saves weight but still.

Unless you find an awesome dealer, I don't think they're going to give you parts of these packages...it's likely all or nothing.

You *could* just get the whole package, then do a parts swap with some members here to recoup the extra cash you spent.

The "single scroll for weight" claim is bull. They wouldn't put in a twin-scroll like the X because they need a bigger jump in performance between the RA and the X. If both cars had the same stock HP, uneducated consumers would spring for the RA because it's cheaper and sales for the EvoX would drop.

Yeah Mitsubishi makes up the packages, so they will not split them up unless for some reason they had a partial one to begin with like something broke or what not. Otherwise they'd be left with random partial packages. =/

Do you really not like the seats or HIDs or just want it to be a little cheaper? In the longer run it would be well worth getting the whole package if you can afford it. I did not get it mainly because I wasn't a huge fan of the seats, but I kind of wish I did now. =)

yea they only come in pkg while your not buying the car. after the fact you can put any thing you in it.

The seats I here are kind of bad. and over priced. hey I did not get sound system but I got navi for free the sub takes to much space in the trunk.

and the others are right spend a couple grand on the the evo turbo , and intake and a ecu tune and you will be and evo.

Swapping after the fact with other Lancer owners probably is the best option. Otherwise, you could get the base model and upgrade to the things you want on your own.

Also, salesmen are not paid to know about cars; they are paid to sell cars. And, if they think that what they tell you will make the car easier to sell, they will tell you that, regardless of whether they know better.

crap then that sucks, i dont want to deal with all of crap i had to do in my old car, wanted to keep the stock headunit, so i got a inline converter which was a pain, then had a 12 in sub fly all around the trunk every time i did i turn. Do they sell the sub in closer some wear so i could just put a sub in and mount it like the r/f ? and if i get a different headunit how much crap do i have to do to get the audio controls to work?

If your wanting to upgrade stereo components, then I would go with a base model car. The Fosgate system is good, but if you don't want HIDs and Recaros, spend the money on a good sound system.

As for sunroof, it is not available at all. You will have to get an aftermarket one installed, which I will never do. I've yet to see a properly engineered one to date.

YOUR BEST FRIEND HERE

There are adapters for certain brands of headunit that allow you to keep your controls.

Seriously, if u want most of the package and can afford it, get the Recaro pack and trade someone your hids for their lights + cash. Same with the Recaros. I've seen so many people with Lancers and RA who wish they could have got Recaros and HIDs or regret not spending the little extra and getting them.
