99 at my local Shell garage

Sorry, couldn't resist. Why does the US get such low octane rated fuel? The minimum here is 95.

Hence you guys getting the FQ400!? We're even worse off than the US. Most pumps here in Canada (at least Ontario) have 87, 89, and 91. SOME have 94.

I am pretty sure that the octanes in UK and AUS are all relative. Meaning the numbers may be higher because its a different system, but all in all, its the same stuff.

So I have been filling up with Mobil for a while now. Despite the fact that I have already tested it, I was so happy with the results, as was my car, that I just keep filling up with it. I think it actually has more to do with that fact that the station is brand new and therefor the underground tanks arent all grimy and nasty, which does effect the gas quality. I will move onto Hess this week and try out Sunoco again. I am going to make this a little more interesting. Instead of just going to a Hess or Sunoco, I am going to seek out the newest station of these brands I can find then see how the knock differs from older stations.
