There is a difference in normal and sport in manual mode. Sport mode shifts faster

isnt this a commonly known fact? Like i dont get the purpose here myself. Accelleration sucks.. hmm, you know, i dont think anyone else had noticed.

I think a better way of going about this would be, how do i get rid of some of the lag off the line. Tune or just an exhaust/filter or x turbo, or sprint booster.

Lots of ways to limit the amount my friend.

You can limit it, but not eliminate it.

Although I believe secondchase installed some sort of throttle device that got rid of the lag. He would have to confirm it though.

Yeah there was a long discussion about that and it was just a throttle input amplifier. So that would be the only solution to limit it??

It would help for sure. I think they are adjustable now too.

No it won't help, there is a difference between acceleration, throttle response, time to WOT and pedal sensitivity. The products in question act on the latter two and in some cases, only in a minor way (ie. time to WOT is reduced by fractions of a second). If you can push your foot down further, you can replicate what the products do for free.

I've been doing some testing on my personal Sportback and I no longer have his delay and throttle drop from WOT from a stop. It is completely gone.

However, this is a safe-guard for the trans. At stock or slightly higher then stock power I don't see an issue but after adding a good amount of additional power it might be a risk.

Next I will be dialing it back in, in small steps to see if I can good a good compromise between safe guard and response...

Well besides the acceleration that sucks, the top end blows as well, but I know a tune can fix that.

So what did you do to get rid of the delay?

I'm guessing he retuned the throttle map.

There are some tables that control throttle pull, meaning the ECU will pull down the throttle if it sees things over a certain limit.

Here is a logged occurance of what you guys are feeling:

Tiny turbo falls flat on it's face at higher speeds.

I have felt this too often. Guess I should just keep it under 120. lol

So do tuners normally address this issue while tuning AFR/Boost/Mivec timing etc? Or is this something that you're currently researching?

How do you access and tune this - do you have to use any specific software e.g. Ecutek etc?

Cheers...

This might not be what you want to hear, but if you wanted a car designed for the drag strip and top end, the RA was probably not the right choice for you. I seem to remember that, when you were initially deciding on the car, you wanted something that would be a reliable, sporty daily driver. The RA is all of those things. It is not, however, a dragstrip queen or something you would take to Bonneville.
