to further note on the wind noise, a fairing would eliminate any wind noise. i rolled around without the fairing with the rapid aero bars, whistled like a *****, put the fairing on, silent. i work at rackattack boston and ive tried a few setups, didn't like the silver aluminum bars with the wicked white paint, so i put some black steel bars on, i like the look a little better, with two criteriums of course.

free advertisement; call up rack attack boston to place up your order if you want to buy one, get me (tj) on the phone, and mention evoM or whatever and ill give you 20% off on your whole order

The thule site has the adapters and 'standard' cross bars.

It is a two piece kit. When you order it comes with both adapters and bars required (i had them ask me 'why i ordered an extra set of adapters...' )

This ^ is for Sportback with the built-in thule sockets.

For sedan you need the gutter adapters. Just follow the thule site menu for your application.

I just purchased a fairing for the Sportback with Aero Bars. The sound the rack makes with out one when the sunroof open is Unbearable

I will see if I can Record a Before and After sound clip with my phone for anyone else looking to buy one.

Also looks like Thule released the new Aero Blade Bars right after i bought my standard Aero Bars which cut down the noise andthe need for a fairing.

The mic on my phone and recorder suck for this purpose so i didn't bother posting them. But the Fairing makes a huge difference in wind noise. I can actually drive with the sun roof open without wanting to kill myself.

Also for anyone looking at Thule's specs. they recommend the 38in fairing but its to small and looks a little goofy. I returned it for the 44in and i think it's a better fit.

here's a pic with the 44in on.

oh man, those aluminum bars clash with the wicked white hard. i had them and then went back to the black square bars.

those new areoblades do not have a fairing that compatible with them by the way, and i knew with the older rapid bars, they whistled like a *****, maybe since i work for rack attack i will try out the aeroblades and give it a test and maybe even a photo... i think thule personally should make them available in black

A review about the wind noise would be awesome!
Yeah, ionized black would be the best look. I wonder how much that would cost to have done aftermarket.

I had the black square bars on my civic.. heavy stuff, that's why i went with the aluminum this time.

another bonus to the new aero blades are they move the rail forward about a half and inch in front of the lower mount point. This gives you a half an inch more clearance no the rear hatch if mounting on a Sportback for things like bike racks where the wheel will hit if the bike is mounted.

Hi, for those of you with Thule racks, do you use the ARB47 crossbars as recommended by Thule? I'm wondering if the Mitsubishi kit has the same bars or not. Surprisingly, the Mitsubishi kit is under $300, while the Thule kit is more expensive, in the $400 range. Anyone know the differences, and if the Thule cargo boxes can fit on the Mitsubishi bars? Thanks.
