cp9uafhlZfnqiuh3nc !!!!!!!! :( :( :*(

So my car went into what i think was "safe mode" today.

I was sitting at a light having just come off of a 10 minute highway cruise. When the light changed i hit the gas pedal and instatly the engine turned off and i got warning lights. I got check coolant, check oil, service battery, service asc, service something else, and a ! with a triangle around it as well. After 40 minutes of trying everything i could think of ( disconnecting the battery, letting it sit in the on position for a while, just giving it time to cool, everything ) nothing worked and the car not only wouldnt start, but wouldnt even turn over. When i turn the key all it does is remove the power from the gauges like its trying to throw it to the ignition, but it does nothing after that. The ONLY thing that happens is the radiator fans turn on when the key is turned to the on position and stay on till i take them out?!?!?!

Anyways, i got it towed, but im REALLY worried as to what it could be. I DID GET MY TEST PIPE INSTALLED today so im kinda wondering if that had something to do with it. Outside of this the car has ran fine, especially when im driving normal like i had been all day.

Any input GST, Keith,AMS, anyone?

.. OKAY GOOD NEWS

It was exactly what GST Motorsports said it was. One of the o2 sensor wires had contacted the car and blew the fuse. The same fuse runs the spark coils and injectors as well which made it impossible to start. They wrapped them up good this time and repositioned it

thanks to GST for the hint on what it could be. Made the trouble shooting process alot shorter

Pull the codes, would be able to help more.

Could be you grounded the rear 02 on the chassis and blew a fuse, since you said you had the TP just installed.

if it was a fuse i think i would smile all the way to the dealership.

I dont have the car or a dashhawk to pull them or i would. Ill get the codes from the dealership tomorrow.

They install everything, so if it grounded it would be there issue.

Mine wasnt that extreme but I did get all the warning lights come on my car and it wouldnt turn off. It was a bad ETAC. which is an accessory computer.

Hope it works out for ya bro.

Seems like I hear of the new Lancers having these problems. If I can remember correctly, it was the Ecu. The dealership fixed it by reflashing it.

What is a 10 minute cruise? 10 minutes of boosting or high speed?
That's crazy man. I feel you, right after the evo x swap too...We really can't tell without pulling the codes or anything. Did you visually inspect things?
Check the coolant reservoir? Oil Level? What did the UEGO WB and Boost gauge read last?

Was the battery disconnected when you installed the testpipe? (Even though I never really unplug the battery for that like I should.)

Did you upgrade the to the new fuel pump relay yet?

I bet the dealership won't even notice that you upgraded your turbo if you have your heat shields on.

BTW, your car didn't go into Safe mode or limp mode...it turned off/stalled. Limp mode is a situation where the car doesn't make much power (ie no boost) but will still operate.

a test pipe seriously changes your EGT and the afr read. on my silvia it read way lean i think. but that car was so old school you could drive it like that. that kind of install should have been done and tuned, imo. i don't think you broke anything, because you'd know that for sure, but the ecu probably took a crap on you with a bajillion codes and decided to shut the car down before engine damage did occur.

let us know what happened. i hope it's just a fuze or thrown code.
