Oh no! Not another Ralliart buying thread!

Good afternoon, It has come to my attention that the Car Dealership I want to purchase my 09 Ralliart from will be engaging in a big tent sale event tomorrow. They claim they will accept any reasonable offer for the vehicle. I've checked out the stickies, and a couple other Ralliart buying threads, and have concluded that an offer of $21.5k should be fair. The dealership is wanting $24,999 online for the car. It is a used 2009 with 3000 miles on it without any special package on it. When I test drove the car last week the lowest the manager would go was $25,500 (The sticker was 26000). Obviously, I knew they were bsing me, so I decided to come back and see the guy i intended to see in the first place. Given their previous bs'ing, how likely do you think I could get them down to my mark during this special event? I've never participated in any tent sale events, but do you think they'll be more desperate and willing to get rid of the car?

Anyways, any advice on what I should offer, negotiating tips, and experience at one of these tent events would be helpful.

Sincerely,

MitsuG24

I thunk it depends on how the long has been sitting there and what else is in stock.....they may go down some but other factors may come into play.

Honestly, if your looking into a Mustang buy the Mustang. The R/A is a niche market, the turbo 4 market is huge and many options available there as well. Most of them have a huge, established aftermarket presence where as the aftermarket for the R/A hasn't been to eager or enthusiastic.

Also, you can find some decent mileage STIs and Evo's from 2006 and later. From a dealer you can always get a good warranty to add on if you are in need of one.

I just bought mine last week, for under $24k and under 40k miles. I didn't add a warranty as the factory warranty still exists and the car is completely stock (for now I suppose)

At the price the dealer is quoting you, you can probably buy a new one cheaper in terms of the available rebates or financing deals if you do decide to finance. Though you could finance, and decide to pay the car off, usually without any penalties or fees.

I live in Albuquerque, NM so the local stock is very thin. I'm perfectly fine with driving to neighboring states, but it seems that the market for these seem to be slim in those places too. For those of you who got a good deal on your cars, where did you pick yours up?

PS: I don't know where the whole mustang thing came from, but I'm not interested in one, so please disregard mustang talk. Also, the evo and sti's are out because of the price of insurance. Grazzy, ***.

who cares who paid what for what.

Buy the car at a price that works for you. This is the internet and alot of the nerds on here think their otd price makes them some kind of hero. Every car buying situation is different. Make yourself happy with the price and options and get the car already.
