Proper Launch for RA
So, I've been experimenting with this method for almost a week but not every day, and I've read posts about other launch method as well so, here we go:
* All these below start with :
-dead start
-asc off
-sport mode
-automatic
-no traffic
Other Method:
1. hold foot brake(not e-brake)
2. revv to 3k rpms (get the turbo to kick in)
once hit 3k ++ rpms
3. release the foot brake and floor the gas at the same time (requires training)
cons - read on thread about foot brake + flooring.
My Method:
1. pull up e-brake as far as you could (*don't touch the foot brake at all!)
2. revv to 3k rpms
once hit 3k++ rpms
3. throw e-brake down as fast as you could and floor the gas at the same time. (requires a little bit of driver's skill)
pros - no slow down warning =)
You will actually feel the launch with my method, give it a try =)
What do you guys think??

bacquerel - have you heard of the method where you tap the gas pedal repeatedly until 3000rpm with foot on brake, then launch. Tapping the gas stops the clutch engaging and avoids the slow down message. My 13.59 1/4 mile time was achieved with this launch.

*Sorry I forgot to give a detailed explaination for using the e-brake. So yes press the button on the e-brake and yank it up as far as you could while revv to 3k rpms. =)

So ur saying if you use the Ebrake u can avoid the slow down message that pulls boost down etc? I ran into this last week when i went to run my RA. Is there a way we can disable this slow down message? As soon as u get it to 31-3200RPM where it will launch good u get the darn slow down message and power is pulled when on the foot brake anyway....

Only for functionality's sake, use tape to tape the lock button in. Therefore the only thing you have to concentrate on is pull up, needed throttle, push down/full throttle.

My method works wonders. Im having to turn down my first/second gear boost due to a surge issue.
asc off
sport mode
tarmac
in the timespan of 4 seconds your push the gas down hard while holding the brake until 300 rpms and build the boost to 6-10 psi and launch.
Car shoots out like a bat out of hell.

Im sorry for bringing this thread back up again, but Im just curious at how the tapping/feathering technique is done.
Are you guys holding the brakes (foot) while tapping it? Or as said in the 2nd post, does the clutch not engage and you can freely tap and without pressing it? Im just wondering, and how are you guys tapping it? like tap-1000rpm, 2nd tap-1800rpm, 3rd tap 2200rpm, 4th tap-3000rpm then floor it??
