Question for all you 10' ralliart owners
Question for all you 10' ralliart owners
So I test drove the gts and loved the paddle shifting and the sport mode. I wanted to buy the Evo 10' gsr but after some medical problems, I dont want to teach my girl friend(soon to be wife) how to kill my clutch.... So the Ralliart is looking very promising. The question is, how close can you get the Ralliart to look like the Evo gsr with the side vents and exhaust diffuser? What makes the Ralliart so different from the Evo gsr as far as numbers? I know that the RA makes 225 hp (round about) and the GSR makes 280ish hp so why the jump in numbers if it has the same turbo ect? Have they recently gotten over the 500+ hp and 500+ tq problem on the transmission? I plan on buying the RA in 2012 so I want to know about some stuff before I just buy a nice car.

the ralliart makes about 200 whp stock.
A 2008-2009 gsr on the same dyno makes mid 240s
The major differences are.
a. Brakes, the Evo has Brembo, the ralliart does not.
b. The suspension, The evo has a aluminum components while the ralliart has steel (i believe)
c. turbo, The RA has a smaller single scroll, while the Evo has a larger twin scroll.
d. Evo has a wider body
e. The body components are completely different.
f. The RA only comes in the SST TC, which has not even come close to 500 whp. There are a few of us with 320ish whp, and a couple of us with 340+ torque.
The ralliart cannot be retro fitted with the evo fenders without extensive work. No on currently makes a functional side vent, and a major reason is there is no flare to install it in.
You can purchase a body kit from autocityimports.com that will give the RA a similar diffuser, and front end as the evo, but its obviously not exact.
There is an Evo SE coming out, in limited numbers, that is essentially a GSR with the SST TC. Maybe you should consider one of those.

I wish but I can't justify to the future wife a 30+ thousand dollar car. She likes the ralliart though so I figured baby evo turbo'd ok I can deal with that.

With the single scroll turbo, is it possible to mount a fp red?
I did find these that i will buy to put on the fenders to give it that evo look.

I ve seen that you can add alot of stuff to the ralliart to get it quicker than stock or average. Most numbers I ve seen are around 305-320 hp and 320 -350 tq. I like that you can change out to the evo x turbo and you instantly get lower peak power, mid peak power, and high peak power.

Im sorry but i cant be the only one who thinks this looks nothing like an evo.
Have you seen the evo body kits, I feel like those get the closest to the "look" of a evo. Also With my ralliart, I m thinking of RR or GG and painting the front lip to match the evo. I want to cover the chrome crap all black and paint the whole lip black till I can afford the body kit and the cf lip.

Did you ever get your v2 flashed? Never heard back so I figured you must have. How long did it take to do that front bumper plasti-dipped and how hard was it to create the even black GSR-look? I'd come visit and pay to have that done!
Why not just buy a used Evo X MR? That's what I'm going to do if I find a great deal on anything not with the color white.
It's the same tranny so if it breaks it will be the same cost as the Ralliart anyway.
And I think it ultimately just blows to try and look like something you're not, like a Ralliart pretending to be an Evo X.
When I first bought my Ralliart, the Evo was allmost twice the cost in insurance, but now it's the same so it's a no brainer for me, allthough it might differ for you guys.
