DS2 bulbs

so i'm looking at picking up some HID's from DDM tuning

currently planning on getting a 8000k 55w kit for the low beams but using DS2 bulbs instead of 9006

anyone know if they fit in the housing?

Assuming you are intending to place HID bulbs in a Halogen style housing, NO!!!! speaking from experience its not a good idea to do this, it will inevitable cause a fire. For me, I didn't believe what I was told (go figure, right, haha) and decided to test it out for myself with a 20 min ride. When I stopped to check both my fog-lights had cracked all the way through from the additional heat output

also, the D2S bulbs cant clip into a 9006 housing; then there is the issue of power, that doesn't connect either.

good to know, just ordered up a 55w 9006 kit for my RA, though the bulb list says 9006 for 08 lancers... is the bulb the same for RA HID low beams?..

do u have factory HID? if u do ... all u need is D2S 8000k bulb... (not a kit)
therefore 9006 wont work for a OEM HID equipped RA

thats not gonna work..
1 - 9006 wont fit in ur OEM bulb socket
2 - u need D2S 55w
3 - even if u get D2S 55w, u need to *replace* ur OEM ballast ... which i think is really stupid.. (no offense)

my advice is ... get a H11 bulb from the same company and put the kit in ur fog ..
otherwise, sell it or return it..

All right guys my RA came with Oem HiD.

What is the best HID bulb I can get that doesn't need to modify or change any other hardware just the bulb?

Check out lightwerkz, they have everything you need. I also have stock HID's and just ordered a new pair of 6000K 35w DS2

All the HID mentioned above are direct bolt on without any further modification?

Just remove the stock one and replace with the new one?

i'm assuming that you want to go with the 55w ballast because it would be brighter then the 35w ballast but wouldn't last as long. the 8k bulbs will be more to the blue side which wouldn't as bright compared to a 4300k bulb (yellow whiteish). If I had projectors, I would go with the d2s 4300k bulb or 5000k (a little blue to it) and a 55w ballast to get the brightest output as possible and let the projectors will do the blue/purple flickering

I will be ordering the s2k-r projectors from the retrofitsource as soon as they come out with it and do a retrofit.
