'09 Ralliart acceleration problem drive mode

Hi All,

I went for a test-drive in an '09 Lancer Ralliart today, and everything went well except for the following.

With the shifter in 'D', and in drive mode, acceleration was a bit jerky. When I switched to sport mode, everything was fine and the car was very strong.

Any ideas what that would be?

Thanks.

Paul

How long was it running before you drove it? The trans is harder until it warms up for a few.

Thanks. The first answer appears to be more on the money, as it was -10C and the car had not been warmed up prior to my test drive. No more than 1/2 throttle was used.

1/2 throttle !?!?! come on, i test drove a ralliart before i bought and went WOT(made sure not to buy that one), but i also test drove an evo 6 months later and hit 190km/h with the sales person in the passenger seat... he didn't say a word (but then again i do have a badge)

yeah, just like EVO's, the car has to be up to operating temps before it runs normally. EVO's won't even boost fully until they've reached normal temps, and everything is jerky. it limits the power to protect the engine. let the engine warm up to normal operating temps THEN get on it and you should be fine.

Exactly.

The accelerator is very sensitive in low RPM's
