Cosworth is dry-type. I've been interested to try it, but there is SOO much BS following these drop-ins around.

Ordered my cosworth drop in 2 weeks ago from Sumopower UK and they have still not sent it, otherways I could have given some feedback..
Anyone know if you need to remove anything around the airbox when changing filters? Havn't tried it out yet.

Super Street's dyno test on our car showed the K&N filter provided a modest 2HP bump and smothed out the torque curve in higher RPMs.

I have a K&N filter in my car, and if I could spend $42 on another mod that has been proven to add another 2 HP, I would almost certainly give it some serious consideration!

Even with Mike's doubts as to whether a drop-in would perform based on previous experiences, we actually came out surprised once again as we picked up an additional 2hp and saw a more smoothing effect of the power curve in higher rpm. While a K&N drop-in filter may not work wonders on all Ralliart engines, we were sold and would recommend this as an affordable modification.

No, I have the Cosworth. You just take the old one out and put the Cozzy in.

Just installed a K&N, pop the two clips, pull the old one out, drop the new one in, close the clips.

Just that easy.

Much easier than my other car.

I have the K&N, I don't know about any FELT increase in performance, but I know the gains are there.

This might get into the same conversations as other forums...buuuuuut...I'm just worried about the oil on the K&Ns.

1. Oil on the MAF = bad
2. Oil slowly drying out over time = no filtering = bad (the K&N relies on the oil to catch particles)

The filter would have to be soaked in oil for #1 to happen.

But if someone can bring some dyno sheet to prove/disprove the benefit of putting those filters that would be nice.

Enjoy, that was my X the testing was done on. In short, various filters do make power, they way they do so is as much to do with altering the flow around the maf element which in turn leans out the mixture (because the ecu see's slightly lower load).

just installed K&N drop in last night.
Do you need to re-map the ECU?

I'd personally recommend a dry filter...as I ran the K&N in my ralliart and ended up having to replace my MAF sensor because of it

was that because of oil on it?

that would only happen when you dont properly oil it. I have had a k&n drop in in both my lancers, toyota tundra (dads), scion tc (fiances car/my car), chevrolet blazer (brothers) , oldsmobile bravada (brothers) and have had 0 issues when re-oiling my filters.

Currently I have an AFE DRY filter though in my gts because I got it for real cheap and it came with a cleaning kit (k&n kit ran out with all those k&n filters we have).
