Getting 2011 Ralliart, what to.....
expect? I am expecting a great car that will fit all my needs. I wanted something sporty (always will be a car guy), sedan (getting married), all weather driving (long commute). I ordered the car yesterday, and I should have it by March or sooner they say...... So give me some cool details or info about the car. I have never owned a Mitsubishi either. For instance, how is the shifting in all the different modes? What about the traction mode?? Can you really set it for snow, tarmac, etc...??
Ordered:
2011 Ralliart
Apex Silver
Fully loaded (Package, and Nav)
Oh yeah, my name is Mark.

the transmission will take a little getting used to if you come from shifting a normal manual. ull def be trying to stick your left foot through the floor board for a couple of weeks. i would definitely always drive it in manual though, the car seems more alive and the first thing id do if i were u is get a base map tune to wake her up.
welcome aboard

Thanks, and that made me laugh. haha.
The dealership I ordered it from didn't know much about the ralliart. They never even had one at their site. So most of the info about the car I have been figuring out. I have a couple questions. How many different driving modes are there? How do they differ?? Same goes with the traction modes (snow, etc...)... How do they help? The Corvette I have has different driving modes, but they mainly focus on the active handling system and traction on/off.... I am betting the Ralliarts modes do a lot more then the Vettes. Am I wrong?
Rev match in all modes makes you like a rockstar

Get better perfoming tires the stock ones suck pretty bad in everything.
You can sell them to anyone with a Lancer with the GTS wheels.
Believe me I changed mines a few months after getting my RA to a set of BrigeStone RE760 and now I can do things in the curves that I never be able to do with stock ones due to the lack of grip.
Then a reflash to the ECU + Boost Pill and that is all you need to enjoy it. The stock ECU programming sucks too.

Learned a lot about the car! I am excited about the tranny. Sounds WAY better than what I am used to. Traction settings sound very useful too.Anymore links out there to help a newbie Ralliart owner??

Try this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB_IRFnOf_Q for the different traction modes, I know its not that good but gives you a good idea.
That driver sucks, Emergency brake? Whats that? I thought it was the parking brake? but yes the different traction modes make the biggest differences. Word of advice, dont think your the hot shot and take traction control off in the snow..1 evo x here did that and it wasnt pretty. Light pole-1 Evo wrecked-0
Not that video again...
"Oh I can already feel it's much more front wheel drive biased" when he switch snow mode on
He also said something about 50/50 in gravel mode... IT'S ALWAYS 50/50!
I lol'd.
Don't spread this disinformation video please. I don't call that snow and clearly he misjudged his "e-brake" the first time and blamed it on something else. For a traction review I dunno why he even uses the "e-brake" to begin with as he clearly don't know how to use it.
And the first video on the autox track was even worse

With it on, usually it takes forever before you can get on the power again.
Technically the "ASC" is not traction control, its stability control.
If a wheel spins or the car oversteers etc.. it will immediately cut throttle and defeating the purpose of having AWD with those mechanical differentials.
It can be disabled by pressing an obnoxiously hard plastic button for 5 seconds.

Great stuff guys. I skimmed through some of it, and will go threw it better this weekend. But a few things popped out that I want to make sure...
-May mod / tune eventually, no hurry tho... How is the exhaust sound on these cars? Mild noise?
-It is better on the tranny to manually shift the car?? Sport mode activated is even better? Makes sense, but is it really true?
-Traction control can be turned on and off? Completely different from ASC... So you have 3 different modes that can be altered? 1 - normal/sport 2 - ASC (snow, tarmac, gravel) 3 - Traction Control (on/off) All right??
Thanks guys. If I keep this up I will know a lot before it is even here.
