Cp-e CBE Exhaust Ralliart !
Alright so I went up to Whistler, B.C. for the weekend and had a good 2 hour drive with my exhaust, winding roads, steep inclines, long declines and a nice tunnel to rip it through as well.
Here's my thoughts,
From the videos it is close to the evo's CBE, but you never hear the deep and low growls the CBE provides, and you never hear the inside of the cabin how it truly sounds until you hear it in person. At 2 specific rpms in 5th and 6th there is a lot of drone and it vibrates my seat and console. But when you are on spirited drive it puts a smile on my face and puts all other worries aside.
At idle my first thoughts were SWEET!!! PERFECT!!! but after a few days I noticed it got a bit louder and then softened to a nice deep exhaust sound only when my car is warmed up. No complaints from neighbors and I can barley hear it from my own house when my car is warming up.
Daily driving is a bit harsh, not cause of the deeper and more noticeable exhaust note or the louder rev-match noise, but cause of the drone and vibrations I hear. From a start at low rpms its got a deep sound, a nice sound and little vibrations but no drone. At higher rpms the note becomes higher pitched, no vibrations and no drone, but still a nice deep tone to it.
Here's were it gets nasty, at 5th and 6th gear, at around 1500-2300rpms the car drones and vibrates. Its the worse when I go up hill at 6th gear and around 2000rpm my whole center console would vibrate and the drone becomes very loud and annoying. My cup holder would vibrate and anything that is in there would shake, it drones throughout the whole cabin. I could pop it into 5th and all the vibrations would go away, but I didn't have these worries with my stock exhaust. Though bearable its just not that refined as a daily driver.
At Highway speeds and with no steep inclines there is no drone or vibration. It is louder then the stock exhaust but you are still able to carry on a conversation and listen to music. But once you open the throttle you will hear your exhaust note growl which is perfect in my book.
Driving through the tunnel reminded me of my friends mustang. Giving it some with my windows down put a gigantic smile on my face.
Anyways I don't know what else to tell you about the exhaust, If I had the money I would try a few more exhausts, but for now I Love the look and just like the sound. If I find a way to eliminate or reduce that drone without having to restrict the flow, I would give this exhaust two thumbs up, but for now its not bad but not great, I see potential.

I looked into the Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator, the thing is I just got this exhaust and don't wanna chop it up already, and I want something that is not restrictive.

i told you the camera wasn't doing the full deep sound the justice it deserves
the drone is happening because at about 2000-2500rpm the car reaches a harmonic resonance point. it happens even with the stock exhaust, and is even cautioned in the owners manual, but it is just WAY more pronounced with an aftermarket exhaust.

It's not restrictive at all!! You can get it in a 3" diameter to match the size of your new CP-E exhaust, and it's a straight through design, so it doesn't restrict any exhaust flow, only sound! Like I said, I'm just trying to help you with your droning and noise issues, but suit yourself!

I don't have the CP-E exhaust, I have the DC sports 3" catback, which includes a resonator that can be seen in this picture. All I can tell you is that I love my exhaust, my wife enjoys the mildly louder than stock sound, and there is literally no droning at all. I was so concerned about noise and droning I almost bought the optional DC sports silencers that bolt right into the tail pipes when I ordered my exhaust. Now that I have had the exhaust for a while I realize there is absolutely no reason to ever add the silencers, and IMHO the resonator is probably the reason there is no drone. Good luck with your decisions!
i also feel your pain about adding a resonator. it's not so much a restriction as that it actually changes the note of the exhaust slightly, maybe not much to some people but to others can make a world of difference. (yes it does, and for those of you who say otherwise, you need better ears.) and now that you've heard it in-person, i'm guessing you're like the majority of others who own cp-e exhausts and don't want to change the sound and potentially weaken it one bit, if at all possible.
that being said, if you're not super concerned about weighing the car down a little, this is probably the most effective solution i've seen to-date. its a bit of a lengthy read, but it'll give you good detailed information on one of the best solutions on the market today. just click on the pictures at the top to read about each: http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi
you'd probably be wanting to do a CLD/CCF/MLV combination, and if you only go with the 1/8" foam so you wouldnt be adding too-much underneath the carpeting, the overall thickness of the whole setup is around 1/4-3/8"
Here are some pictures of the CBE, a bit dirty from my trip
And its not as low as the picture makes it seem, the 2nd one I'm on a slope, and its only a tad bit lower then the stock exhaust.

I was wondering how the resonance and vibrations would be with just the axle back. Meaning I would by the axle back part (which I can get) and get a professional to custom put it on to the OEM ralliart midpipe- any thoughts??
I did that at first, but then just recently had a custom midpipe fabricated as well. I would recommend just doing the full catback from the beginning, and ordering a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator to replace the OEM cannister style resonator, and then also get yourself one or two bottle-style resonators that you can weld into the straight sections of the midpipe to further reduce noise and drone.
