Most of my driving is highway, but I still drive over two mountains on my way to and from work. I usually average anywhere between 250-290 miles per tank.

I get 9mpg and I am ok with that. I didn't buy the car cause I wanted to get good MPG!!!! if want good mpg, its all in the way you drive the car. Using the brakes is just another way of turning your money into heat. Use the brake pedal as little as possible and hyper mile, you should have no problems hitting the high teens low twenties.

I down shift a lot to engine brake on the freeway when traffic slows and always leave room ahead of me.

Its the small things that add up, and thats why you are able to hit 23-25mpg.

When I'm on the highway and I'm trying to save gas, I can get 30mpg in sport/manual. When I use cruise control, I typically get 27-28mpg in normal/auto.

This is with the razorlab 2.5 baseflash and I'm reading the mileage on the display.

Even a Hummer H2 dragging an anchor from an aircraft carrier in stop-and-go traffic could get better mileage than that. You really need to get the car checked out.

Here's what I've noticed. This part will concern people who don't do mostly short trips.

During the week, I drive about 10 miles round trip when I go to work (5 there, 5 back) and I get about 13~15MPG depending on the temperature.

However, as soon as I go on longer trips, it goes right up to around 22~26MPG.

Moral of this story, when the engine doesn't have quite enough time to warm up, it uses up A LOT of gas. On long highway trips, it's not nearly as bad.

I get 23-25mpg and 290-320miles per tank. 75% Freeway driving. 95% in nomal mode. I drive sportsback which is ment to use a little more fuel than a sedan.

+10000000

People need to realize the biggest fuel economy mod is behind the wheel

If I'm grannying it on my commute, I do about 22ish mpg in rush hour traffic both ways. If the red mist has me, I change my display to the odometer because it's depressing otherwise.
