mileage

I see around here that people are getting MUCH better mileage than me. I drive mostly in sport, but sometimes normal too. However I definitely dont drive quick enough to be getting the 7-9 MPG that i do Even in normal mode on the highway for 20 miles straight the best I've gotten is 17.5 MPG... I'm not ready to get a custom tune just yet, but should i take my car to the dealer and ask them to reflash or something?? Gas is wayy to expensive lately for me to be filling up almost twice a week. I only have about 3500 miles on the car if this makes a difference, and I only waited until now because i know sometimes it takes a while for the car to settle down.

well why drive in sports mode all the time? you're shifting at very high RPM's so thats why it's eating so much gas.. you expecting to race someone every second?

i drive in normal mode tarmac and get around 15... Even still I see people saying they get over 20 when I get 15 driving pretty damn slow and carefull. Otherwise I get around 12-13

I get around 200-240 miles in between fill ups. I got as high as 28 mpg during a trip to Virginia, but this was during the summer. I'm sure mileage will increase some once the weather gets warmer.

I drive rather, ahem, aggressively (you have to if you want to survive so-cal freeways), and I get about 240 per 11-11.5 gal refill's, so say 21-22mpg

I live in SoCal and my first tank got me about 19 MPG, but then again I was having some fun with it. It looks like I will go about a week per tank so somewhere between 23-25 MPG for me. I do use manual shift mode a lot and keep it from revving to high, and it helps I don't have traffic for 95% of my commute.

I am not sure why there is such a difference between what people are getting for mpg. I have been tracking mine since mile 950 or so. I have got 15,14.7,14, 14.4 and 12.03 WTF. I live in suburban NJ. I only average maybe 20 hwy miles a week. I just filled up yesterday and I am going to baby the S*** out of it for this tank. I am not letting the revs go above 3,000.. I want to see if it is even passable to get near the 17 mpg estimate on my F ing window sticker. I love the car, but, they should have said 14 city and 19 hwy on the window sticker. To be honest I may not have bought the car. I see a class action law suit in Mitsus future. lol

Lol so i guess either the factory tune varies quite a bit, or we all just have very different ideaa of aggressive driving I've tried really going easy for full tanks by manual shifting to under 2500, but still never got past 11 mpg in my suburban area and that was driving like an 85 year old haha. Anyway looks like I'm headed to the dealer to see what they say about this- maybe every RA around me gets the same mileage.
