Dealer conference made mention for the 2012 Lancer having an SE model that is AWC. It will use the 2.4l, 16" wheels, heated seats and side mirrors, lower fascia chrome bezel and AWC badge. My guess is the price will stay around 21k. At least I hope it will.

The GTS as we know it will be re badged a "GT". It will have a ralliart-type front fascia, and newly designed 18" wheel. There will be a Touring pack. option that includes a rear camera and monitor. There will also be a change to the interior fabric and instrument panel trim.

Small enhancement made to the ES: New interior fabric and instrument panel trim.

This is all that was said at that time but I hope to have more info. in the near future.

The last RA and Evo is still said to be discontinued after model 2013 is built. 2 more years of the Evo and RA. I'm saving my pennies and getting the 2013 Evo before the legacy dies. It will be a sad day when the Evo is gone but only as a combustion engine only. There is still much talk of the Evo being a hybrid that will STILL use the 4b11T as the main source of power and an electric assisted motor for the fuel econ. bump. Cross you fingers that they decide to go in that direction. If it's decided to use the 4b11T and just add an electric assist it will be in the range of 350hp. Not bad.

Yeah like Audi would send that to the U.S. They won't even give us the RS3.

Can't wait to see the new 18" rim they are going with...
other than that I am keeping the RA in spite of the Evo going down in a few years.. Because in reality, I don't need an evo's performance when the RA suits me just fine. I will leave it up to chance about the Evo returning, but if the Evo comes back as a hybrid (4b11T/electric assist), i may find myself picking one up later in life.

Thanks for the super-insider info!

Having owned a German car for the past 12 years (1988 Porsche 928 S4), I'd be very hesitant to buy one ever again.

This is more along the lines of what I'd get as a replacement:

Question to you (and mostly gonna be your personal opinion), but with that information in hand, would you get a 2012 Lancer GT or a 2011 RA?

This is such a loaded Q that I'm sure has been discussed before.

RA:
Faster, AWD, better handling, more mod friendly

GT: Better fuel econ., cheaper purchase price, cheaper insurance, better warranty, reg. gas, maintenance is much much cheaper, bigger trunk.

It really depends on what you can afford (or justify affording) and what your looking to get out of your car. Ask yourself these Q's and you will get your answer.

The RA Sportback is no longer. There will be an minor engine tweak to the Outlander Sport but no major changes will be made.

Were lucky Mitsubushi is still around at all given their past issues. This is just a case of them needing to keep themselves viable and not having unlimited resources to keep all their exiting lines in place while they get there. Subaru announced they are revamping the Impreza line, but dropping the Tribeca line. No one has unlimited resources anymore. Sign of the changes in the business models.

I think could see people turboing the 2012 Lancer SE with AWC in the future.
