Crazy transmission

So I've been noticing a couple things that my ralliart has been doing. 1st thing is when I'm driving down the street it feels like I'm hitting little cracks in the road when im really not? And going to forth gear is kinda a hard shift same with 5th. But at wot its fine? Now heres where it gets weird... This happened 3 times within the month I've owned it. I'll be sitting at a stop light and my rpms will bounce CRAZY from 300-1000 kinda like I'm taping the gas. Oh and yesterday I was getting gas and after I got gas I put it in drive and let go of the brake and my car almost died. Is this the weird stuff I need to get used to with this trans? Or...

That doesn't sound like a tranny issue. It sounds like you need a tune, and your timing is off. Really high timing in the idle region will cause your rmp to bounce all over, and almost stall in hot weather (when the fans kick on and off). Also, timing issues will cause your shifts to be rough. Have a tuner who is familiar with the SST look at your car.

You aren't getting a new tranny. Nothing you have said would result in Mitsubishi replacing the transmission.

Hey Frank, I was the one with the grinding noise and I was able to get my dealership to replace the tranny. The only crappy thing is they either a tech or service writer or both of them need to hear the noise. I took about 10 videos and they said they can't do anything unless they hear it in person. What I would suggest is you drop it off in the overnight drop off and let it sit all night. Then if you have another car or someone can take you, drive over to the dealership before them touch or move the car and try to start it up then. I was lucky I got mine to make the noise as it was doing it more frequently. They ended up talking to the region service rep and they ordered a new tranny and replaced it within a couple of weeks. PM if you have any questions.
