Improving 1/4 mile time for ralliart?
last summer i went to the drag strip and my best time was a 12.7 @108.59mph with the stock tires and my best 60ft was a 2.0 and i was using the brake boosting method next summer im getting some better tires and im gonna try the tap method it seems to work better for alot of people
I wish there was a track near me :/ . I guess i wont ever know what my current set-up can run in the 1/4. I would bet pretty good hopefully!
Ill never know becasue I am installing a few goodies (FP Red, GSC2 Cams, and other supporting mods) this winter :].

do the tap method with the same tires, you dont want xtreme grip. Something can break
Managed a 12.582 this weekend. Still on stock RA turbo. Blip the accelerator a couple times til the lights start to drop. Then hold the pedal to the floor. Let off the brake at the last yellow and away we go. Usually between 1.73-1.79 60' times. Very consistent. I have a video ill upload later hopefully. I also have another of me squealing the tires on launch, too, though I'm sure that's been seen before
so i got a question i was reading all through this and i am trying to learn how to better launch my RA and i see you guys saying use the Tap method meaning taping the gas while holding the brakes to get the RPM's up above 3k and when i do that i get a loud popping noise coming from the engine and im not sure what it is or if its bad or if anyone else has experienced it but i have only done it twice and both times it did it so im not gonna do it any more until i fond out what it is and if its bad...
This is true. Sometimes when I'm daily driving ill get a pop from my exhaust. If its from the engine then idk
Here's a quick example of the launch technique that I use. It's a quick tap, tap, tap once I'm staged and as soon as the lights start dropping, you can hear me holding the pedal to the floor. When the last yellow comes on, let off the brake and away I go.
The 60' on this pass was something in the low 1.7s (can't find the slip right now) and the ET for the 1/4 wasn't exactly my best, but it was fairly decent and is a good example of how quick these cars can get out of the hole.
Devin @ Boostin Performance should have another video, from directly behind the car while launching, so I'm going to try and get ahold of that, otherwise hopefully next season I can get some videos a little closer to the car so you can hear/see it a little better, but at least it's something for now.

See the front end of the car nose-dive just after the start? Car just falls on its face and stops accelerating. Like if you just let go of the pedal, even though you're still pushing it to the floor. Then, all of a sudden, it comes back like nothing ever happened and away you go again.
