Ill never know becasue I am installing a few goodies (FP Red, GSC2 Cams, and other supporting mods) this winter :].

do the tap method with the same tires, you dont want xtreme grip. Something can break

I also have another of me squealing the tires on launch, too, though I'm sure that's been seen before
I wanna c a video of how u do it. On my first run ever I did the same method as you say up there and I went into limp mode and it took at least 20 secs to come out of it. I was afraid to try again of fear of going into limp mode again so I just did the tap method just up to 2000rpms until the final light and just floored it. I couldnt get a good 60' (best was 1.96) with that method and made my time suffer. It may not have help that I drove about a half hour to the track right through tech and then right into the staging lanes. I could feel a hugh difference in my first launch but like I said I was afraid of going into limp mode and hurting my trans. You think it was just because the trans temp was already high?

so i got a question i was reading all through this and i am trying to learn how to better launch my RA and i see you guys saying use the Tap method meaning taping the gas while holding the brakes to get the RPM's up above 3k and when i do that i get a loud popping noise coming from the engine and im not sure what it is or if its bad or if anyone else has experienced it but i have only done it twice and both times it did it so im not gonna do it any more until i fond out what it is and if its bad...

From the engine or from the exhaust? What mods (if any) do you have? The car has a habit of backfiring/afterburning when you do this and have a test-pipe installed.

Here's a quick example of the launch technique that I use. It's a quick tap, tap, tap once I'm staged and as soon as the lights start dropping, you can hear me holding the pedal to the floor. When the last yellow comes on, let off the brake and away I go.

The 60' on this pass was something in the low 1.7s (can't find the slip right now) and the ET for the 1/4 wasn't exactly my best, but it was fairly decent and is a good example of how quick these cars can get out of the hole.

Devin @ Boostin Performance should have another video, from directly behind the car while launching, so I'm going to try and get ahold of that, otherwise hopefully next season I can get some videos a little closer to the car so you can hear/see it a little better, but at least it's something for now.

See the front end of the car nose-dive just after the start? Car just falls on its face and stops accelerating. Like if you just let go of the pedal, even though you're still pushing it to the floor. Then, all of a sudden, it comes back like nothing ever happened and away you go again.
