p0402 code
p0402 code
hey guys.
i did search around for this but didnt find a specific answer to my question for our cars...
so this code popped up a few days ago (EGR Excessive Flow). i was wondering if its something i should truly be worrying about or if it something easily fixed. if anyones gone through this and could let me know what they did thatd be great. i did clear it once to see if it would come back and it did.
i read on some other sites and most people said its most likely just a blocked passage somewhere and you just need to clean out all the passages.
if anyone could help me out with a solution thatd be awesome
thanks guys

i dont know if my mods make a difference in this but i have a magnaflow cbe, depo hfc, turbosmart bov, k&n drop in, evo x intercooler, and UR piping
EDIT: just found out it may or may not be a p420 code. wont find out till friday unfortunately. any help for either is still appreciated. thanks

My guess would be that it's a P0420, not a 402, which would likely be caused by your HFC. If it is, it's not detrimental to the car, just annoying and you won't be able to pass emission inspection. Also, if it's a P0420 code, there are plenty of answers to that one here in the forums. I'll give you a hint though:

If it truly is a P0402 code (honestly, highly unlikely), then I apologize for wasting your time. Make sure you don't have any vacuum lines blocked or pinched and go from there to diagnose the EGR.
