HID lights for ralliart

Hello guys, first post here...

I just recently bought a 2011 ralliart and have been enjoying it a lot. The one thing i'm not so keen on is the headlights - they seem a bit dim. I've been looking into HID lights and searching this forum A LOT on the different projector housings available and kits...

It seemed like most people weren't impressed with the fitting of the spyder style projector housings. I was looking at this one -
Amazon Amazon
. I'd like to order it but I want to make sure i'm getting a quality product first. Does anyone have any other inputs on this?

The second part that confused me a little is the HID conversion kit. I saw a lot of people saying that the flicker with the HID's is really annoying and to get the JLC harness. But it seems like I also saw that the flicker issue is mainly caused by DRL (my ralliart doesn't have DRL). So would I be fine with a different harness? Can you guys recommend a quality conversion kit that would do the job?

I am thinking of getting 6K bulbs for the bright white with just a hint of blue. Do I need to order any other bulbs to fit in the projector housings or will the stock bulbs fit? (with the exception of the low beam which i am switching).

And the last question is whether I should order any kind of sealant or protection for the projector lenses so they don't fog/yellow over time. If you guys could help me out I would appreciate it. I really have read through tons of threads regarding this and think I have it narrowed down, I just don't want to make a stupid purchase!

5K is White with a Hint of Blue...... 6K is Ricer blue.

Order from www.ddmtuning.com and just order a set of 9006 HID kit. and my opinion, if your going to do projectors... do it right and get some retrofitted projectors in or Stock OEM Evo Projectors headlight set.

If you dont have DRL, then don't worry about threads that relate to them.

Why should I only buy from dmm tuning? And why is it so much better to retrofit projector housings in my stock headlights? Sorry but I kinda need reasons along with your answers. One of my friends showed me theretrofitsource as a place to buy good conversion kits. Do any of you have experience with them?

TRS is a good place to get projectors and read up on DIY retros.

DDM has been successful in the automotive industry comes with warranty and quick service. I run them in all my cars and Bikes.

Cheap *** quality NON real projector headlights will she scatter light rather than be a REAL projector and give you a clean beam of light. Most Aftermarket headlight unit sold are usually not OEM looking, Audi LED wannabe, Leak due to poor sealing of the housing... I mean all the info is out there check out the forums.

Again, me personally it's wiser to do a retro fit than get aftermarket headlights. E46 Extended Shroud with TSX/FX45/S2K Projectors and they will out do any Aftermarket headlight along with give you the best light source.

Depo has some good X HID projectors on Amazon for $236. I ordered a pair and they've worked out great so far.

There's a thread already discussing it:

See post #51 for the Amazon link

I've had excellent success with vvme hid kits, shipping only takes 2-3 days, very cheap too. I've bought about 10 kits over 4 or 5 cars for fog lights and low beams.

PriZm i went through Theretrofitsource.com and they were great. Very hepful and high quality products. Doing your own retrofit is a PIA. I strated mine months ago and am almost finished. Well worth it if your up to the challenge also i used this forum http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/forum.php? for alot of the info i needed and wanted.

Good luck

what part of maryland are you from? maybe you can check out my headlights before you decide to ruin your halogens with HID's. Please, please, please do projectors if your goin to do HID. Now that i have the money, im goin to be cracking my lights back open once again to custom mod em again, im adding a additional projector and halos.

The whole reason I started the thread is so that I could get real projectors for my HID's... I'm not going to put HID bulbs in a non-HID projector housing, that's just retarded. I ended up buying the Lexus RX-AFS stage 3 kit (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...products_id=64) from TRS yesterday along with their morimoto xb angel eyes (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=14906). So I should have them for next week to start my project.

OK. Not sure I want HIDs for the sake of HIDs. What is the sweetspot for most light out put for the least dollars? Just a projector retrofit for the stock housings? DEPO swap?

I just know stock halogen non-projectors are down right dangerous and I need a lot more light. I don't care at all about aesthetics.
