Anyone with money can make the ralliart out perform an evo. We lack the ability to run super wide tires, but throw in a modified 1.5 or even 2.0 rear limited slip diff and it will kick any ayc evo's butt. No one has attempted this and i really want to, but we don't know if the rear sub-frames swap out. Someone want to buy a post sandy flooded evo and check? haha

It all comes down to money. To make the car out perform an evo in one shot, you might as well put a down payment on an evo. Over time adding pieces and parts I don't see why you can't achieve this goal. We have the weight advantage too :P

Just a dis-closer this is assuming both cars are competing in an auto cross and or drag and I've only listed one modification.

I 100 percent agree with you

The point I was going for was that at some point a ralliart can out perform an evo. Let us dream a little lol

See I dont know about that. My car out performs X all the time on the strip and auto xing. Ive put the same amount of money into my car as the Xs I talk about also. Im not trying to say the RA is in any way better than an Evo.

They could just be crappy drivers. Doesn't matter how good the car is, if the driver sucks, the times will be slow.

Yes... at open competitions, fear the MX-5 (Miata) driver who really knows what they are doing, and has the right tyres for the job. That driver will decimate anyone not bringing their 'A' game, regardless of vehicle.

It's a joy to watch!

do you have kids? a stroller easily fits in the RA. Not a chance in the evo.

is it because they have the aluminum roof and integrated rear fenders? I can't see the whole chassis being different, especially the CVT MR models...

I just started this thread to know IF it is possible to swap in Evo parts, I'm not buying a evo. The ralliart was a better choice for DD, this is not being used for autox, I have a heavily modded AE86 for that job.

The MR isn't a CVT. I don't think the roof is included in the chassis. It's possible that the chassis is modified from the factory to include more seam spots or seam welds to increase rigidity.

i am outperforming evos with only 2k invested. Buy your parts smart and do the work yourself (if you have the know how) and you can easily outperform an eve in a straight line...anywhere else though and its best to have just bought an evo....no simpler way to put it. I also have the evo front end and fenders....makes a world of difference in looks and a rather inexpensive upgrade if you know how to find your parts...again it all boils down to what you want, looks, straight line performance or tracking performance...the evo will out-do a ralliart anyday on the curves. just my .000002

sorry i meant SST, Were looking at some suv's for the wife and all the autos are called cvt's, musta had that on the brain. It all it is is just extra spot welds and seams that easy. That would also mean the evo front and rear subframes should bolt onto the RA then.

It's cheaper to just buy an Evo.

No problem, seems this point is being missed by people talking about turning a Ralliart into an Evo piece by piece.
