I'm keeping the first post as a reference for those who want to convert their Ralliart to an Evo. Yes i know its cheaper and why don't you just get a Evo blah blah blah this is an informational post for those who don't have a Evo or couldn't afford it. Instead of reading all the differnent threads out there I thought it would be nice to have it all in one post, and in the first post. Any additional info you can provide on parts that aren't listed or part numbers will be greatly appreciated. I'll update this as often as possible.

...and clutch pedal & shifter assemblies. Isn't the front subframe different as well?

New wheels.

I would like to know this as well, I've read that the upper and lower ciontrol arms ect were and rear subframe was, haven't heard anything about the front. do you know if the rear subframe of an evo will bolt into a ralliart and work even though the ralliart doesn't have SAWC?

The whole chassis different I believe so I think inorder to actaully turn a ralliart into an evo youd infact have to buy an evo.

The first post is a lie. It is the whole drivetrain. Plus, it is the RA crank, and crash car, etc. This is not something that should be considered. Just buy an Evo.

^agreed. With enough time and money anything is possible - but that doesn't mean it is feasible.

(But you still need this a stickee because the question will arise from time to time and maybe (just maybe) it will keep one more re-tread thread supressed.

maybe.

I'm assuming u meant crash bar. I don't think its been proven that the cranks are different yet. In fact in my opinion just by part numbers they are the same.

Which specific parts? drvieshafts?

I mentioned this in the first post. This is for those who have bought a ralliart and would like to convert it to an evo. It seems every time the question is brought up, you get the same guys saying just buy a evo. Well unfortunatly not all of us can afford the Evo (or like the trunk space of a ralliart for daily driving) , but buying a part here and a part there maybe over time we can convert over to one. I see used Evo parts are poping up daily on forums and on the net, Just gave me the idea if it is even feasible...

Like the whole structure or just the floor pans?

With countless hours of reading I have yet to find any mention of the cranks being different as well...

No, you can't do this. The trunk space thing is bull****. I have had both, and living with the Evolution X space is not a problem. You can make the RA a really great car, but the X it ain't. That being said, the RA seems to be MUCH better for drag racing. It isn't bad for Auto-X, either. Unless you are doing serious racing or really want one (an X), the RA is just fine. You need to learn not to ***** so much and focus on being happy with what you have. Trying to make your RA into an X is only going to lead to disappointment.

There are old beat to crap Civics and Miatas out there who consistently post better times on the track than Evolutions (even the VIII and IX). You can't run as wide wheels and tires as the X without serious modification, your suspension geometry is not as good, your car comes with ****ty brakes, and your turbo is hilariously small. None of these things are deal breakers. Really good tires, coilovers, better pads and rotors (or a BBK), pipes and a tune makes this car a really competitive little machine.

It won't matter. The rods will go before the crank does, most likely. Granted, that is opinion, but see my previous post for a general point. This whole thing is stupid.
