oil change service reminder- wtf?

oil change service reminder- wtf?
I changed the wife's oil the other day (first oil change) and when I reset the reminder it came up with 7 months or 1800 miles. That can't be right?

you can change or disable the interval. it's in the owners manual.

Thanks. I didn't go as far to look into the manual because I wasn't really worried about it. I never go by the reminder mileage. I just figured it was preset and the next oil change mileage was really odd.

Mine said 7500 miles, 12 months and the dealer's reminder sticker said 3000 miles, 3 months. Good grief.
