Would the bottom of the front right skid plate broken cause any problem?

If you guys look underneath the car, there is a small piece of rectangular shape plastic extended perpendicular form the plate. It is located in the front of the front wheel. You probably always stretch it when going too fast on slope or a curb.

For mine, that small piece is broken when passing through a bad icy road today. It also made a small hole on the plate at the broken area.

Would it it cause any problems like mud and snow go in and damage?
I find it is quite expensive from the dealer to replace it.
Any advice?

i've never really understood what that plastic tab thingy is for - scrape central and is half of what it used to be. im getting the ssp underpanel for the ralliart to remove the whole plastic bottom tray with an aluminium one which will provide a much higher level of protection for the engine

i should be ok, its just a matter of the rest of the underpanel breaking off once one piece starts. i made my own aluminum underpanel because mine broke into pieces

Exactly. Does anyone know what it is used for???
Mine is like scratching everywhere when snowing.
It does not seems to protect anything behind it. The only thing behind it is the front wheel.

It's to direct air from flowing into the wheel well.
