Looks like you already figured it out. With that 10,000, you can make your RA better than an evo or you can pay it off faster and enjoy life without a car payment.

Evo X is worth it if you want a track-ready car that is an OK daily driver. Ralliart is worth it if you want a performance daily driver.

Thanks for the quick response! Definitely daily driver with performance...... from what I read evo body parts its not a exact fit for a ralliart and the evo has better suspension correct, I believe the suspension parts are interchangeable correct? Its my only car I have a es right now , but I got it before knowing about cvt.... and from what I read up the twin clutch auto .... (cant spell the name of the transmission) and it seems to be really durable I think I read about a evo with a auto pushi ng 500 hp! And I havent seen the evo vs ralliart side by side but I believe the evo has a wider body stile correct just at the quarter panels and fenders? But the is what I've read feel free to post any corrections
thanks to all

You cannot use Evo suspension at all. The only Evo X parts you can use easily are engine related (turbo setup, intercooler & pipes, BPV, etc). Brakes require heavy modification to use on a Ralliart. Tires and wheels are OK, but will require fender rolling.

The SST transmission definitely is not durable (no idea where you heard that considering that it is the single most troublesome part in our cars, as neat as it is), especially if you increase the power. If you get Jacks, SSP, etc. to rebuild it - sure. Otherwise it cannot take much power at all and is very difficult to tune, so most tuners have no idea what to do with it.

The Ralliart is basically same as your ES, but with most of Evo X's engine guts, Evo IX's AWD system, and slightly better suspension and brakes to handle the extra weight.

well i was reading on a build and he had one with 500 hp engine... I didnt see any mods to the tranny but it does make sense, autos can only handle so much before you have to put money in them. Thanks for letting me know about the suspension and pointing out that about the sst, i just know its alot better then the cvt...

doing more readings now on the sst tranny

What is your plan for the car?
The HP and torque goals should guide you to either EVO or Ralliart.

You can push up to 300HP / 300 FT-LBs Torque on a stock Ralliart TC-SST tranny. If you plan more than that - then you really should consider an EVO.

The ralliart is better turning because it was built off the gts model

plan is to get as close as possible to evo specs. if not more! i dont need a 500 hp daily driver but a 300-350 hp/tq range will suits me well... also in the future i wanna take it to some auto x events....

So im guessing there is a difference between Evo sst and Ralliart sst? (and probably is not interchangeable)

And i saw some upgrades that are available for the ralliart sst in a sticky, havent looked into how much better it will be with these upgrades....

Plans
Full exhaust
boost pill evo x
inter-cooler evo x/ boost control
cai
possible cam shaft swap
off course a tune

sst upgrades if possible

battery swap to back (maybe)

and more engine upgrades further down the road and possible race motor swap for track racing (WAY down the road lol)

coilovers or air bag system
nicer brake setup
and some nice shoes to go along with i want some to match the paint... still iffy on the rims

speaking of wich does any one run 3 inch exhaust all the way back or 2.5? havent fund anything on this yet or just overlooked it.

also taking the spoiler off.

but the rims are the last on my list buy everything else first then concentrate on the shoes... beside who doesnt love a sleeper...

Actually they are nearly identical. The only difference is that the Ralliart's SST gas slighly longer 6th gear and S-Sport mode is disabled in the software.

So you are planning to acquire 90% to 120% of an EVO's performance - then seriously consider getting the EVO. Add total cost of mods and consider what your ins company pays out if totaled vs. the integrated pkg of an EVO (including Super All Wheel Control too)...

EVO MR has upgraded clutches as well, but really - go for the GSR for a track day autoX car.

My $.02 worth.

Please provide proof where the clutches are upgraded in the MR.

S-AWC and the AWC system on the Ralliart are extremely similar. The AYC is just a slightly more advanced rear diff. The biggest difference between the cars are the suspension and brakes.

Also, you are incorrect about the clutches. The only difference between the MR and Ralliart transmissions are the slightly longer 6th gear on the Ralliart and the different map on the TCU that enables S-Sport.

Its not worth it to buy the Evo IMO unless you want to tell people you own an Evo. Monthly payments and insurance would be much higher and for some people, could cut into extra money for modding. Honestly I would rather have a modded Ralliart than a stock Evo anyday, and I do.
Check out my signature for my mods and hp/torque numbers. I def didnt spend that extra $8000 on mods and tune on my car and Im faster than a lightly modified Evo. I have the S-Sport tune as well on my car and basically 350 wtrq without any trans issues.
Only issue Ive had with my car is the ACD pump going out which was a pain in the *** to have fixed and reinstalled but the Evo has this pump as well so buying the Evo wont save you from this.
