Question Thinking about selling my RA - Reasons to keep it?

I'm thinking about selling my 09 RA but the car has been really good to me and it's not easy for me to let it go.

Reasons to sell it are to get into something else for a change and get lower ownership costs to get into more Tracking/Autoxing.

Looking to maybe go Miata or S2000? - Not sure. What you guys think?

^x 2 (not sure why you are asking us...)

But, don't you already have a decent track car? if you spent on some mods what $$ you would lose in the sale/buying a new car (including new taxes and registration) you could be killah on da track!

It is not like you contemplating selling the crappy Corolla to buy a track car!

Most of my mods were gratis from Import Tuner - I would only lose the money on the X Turbo.

I'm willing to lose that on the sale.

I ask because I'm trying to decide myself and wonder if others have been thinking about it.

I have an 09 and if I traded my RA for anything, it would have to feel like a huge "Step Up". Meaning, i would want a car that still has same...
AWD
Horsepower
Daily Driveability

But then adds to all three of those categories. Nothing does that for me yet.

I agree! I have a 2010 and before i got it, i did a buncha research and comparisons...and my criteria was: awd, turbo, around $20k, good hp to weight ratio, and to be a good DD since i drive about 2 hrs a day minimum and in traffic quite a bit, and newer than 2009. I looked at audi, bmw, volvo, subaru, mitsubishi...and in all honesty the RA tops em all in my opinion as far as bang for your buck and meets all above criteria and exceeds it. I love the car and def do not regret my purchase!

Honestly, do what makes you happy. I wouldn't have traded my RA for anything but an EVO. lol. I had a 400+whp Ralliart project just go down the drain... insurance pay out = EVO.... drove many other things and nothing seemed to cut it but do what you think will make you happy in the long run as the owner!

We all should have gone with Evo's. Oh wait, money doesn't grow on trees. Nevermind.

Just depends if you want an evo X or an evo 8/9... for the price i paid for my RA i could have picked up a nice 8 or maybe a 9.

As it is my DD (with extended warranty) and zero mods, I will hold on to it and someday maybe someone will want it because there will be so few unmolested RA Sportbacks left on earth. Until then I am happy to drive it everyday. Cheers.

I want a RA sportback, closest thing to an evo wagon in the states.

That's for sure! Drove by my Mit dealer and they had a 2014 Evo GSR sitting in the lot, so I had to stop and look. $43K for it, so ya, I don't have the cash for that, maybe down the road trade my RA for a slightly used EVO.

That's cool, give yourself some time to think it over and see what you really want too do. Like everyone else has said, it's really up to you what you can afford and want to do. I had a'06 Mazda 3 and I love that car(I do miss it), but I think I was/am at a point in my life that I wanted something that had some ump. Maybe I'll grow out of this phase and trade it off, but for now I'm enjoying the car.
