AWC Service Required Light
I guess I'll start from the beginning...
A few days ago I started my car after work (it was about 3 degrees out), I started driving up the hill and my check engine light came on. When I got home my buddy came over to scan it and it turned out to be the front 02 sensor. We cleared it and since, it hasn't come back on.
A couple days later (this time about -8 degrees) I started my car and immediately got the "AWC Service Required" light and lost the ability to switch between the three modes. Ever since it has always been on. Checked the fluid in the truck (still full and not frozen) and all updates have been done to the car. The pump itself is covered still under the extended warranty but I live about two hours away from the dealership and they want $100 just to check the code (this fee waived if it is the ACD pump). With school and work I don't want to waste the time and money on something that may be a minor fix or caused just from the cold weather (not to mention if its something more serious, I don't want to drive that far). So here's my questions...
1. Can I pull the codes myself? (I do not have EvoScan or an AP)
2. A local shop I called told me that with one of their tools they managed to pull a AWC code from an Evo 8, would a Ralliart use the same connection as an 8?
3. Any other ideas for what the code is or suggestions?
Thanks for the help in advance!

If you are under 100,000 miles, I would go to the dealership and get it replacement under warranty.
There was an extension letter regarding the pump failure.
I just had mine replaced at 95,000 miles.

Don't you have an Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts, Pep Boys, or Aamco location near your house? Most(if not all) of those places will pull the code for free......

Their scanners won't pick up an AWC Service code. What sucks is that the pump was already replaced once about 30,000 miles ago. You would think Mitsu would update the design on these stupid things.

Mine's went at 40k. I didn't replace mines until 95k miles.
Since your in Minnesota, your weather more extreme.
I would get it replaced then weather seal the pump along with a awc pump shield.
