Used 2011 Ralliart (34k miles)

Interested in buying a used ralliart I saw with only 34k miles and looks extremely clean. Currently drive a ‘09 base Lancer and looking to upgrade (has 150k miles). Should I go for it? Had a clean VIN report but just worried about the SST going out.

I have zero experience with those cars so take that for what it's worth, but I just picked up a two owner 2009 Ralliart with 114k miles and full service history. Trans shifts very well.... *knock on wood*

I have a '09 Ralliart with 168K miles. At 151K miles I almost declared my SST done, it had tremendous difficulty shifting into gears beyond 1st gear. As a last ditch effort I took a $400 gamble (cost of fluid and filter and it's climbing) and changed the SST fluid and filter and miraculously the SST came back to life and it's been fine ever since. I looked back at my records it had be around 45K-50K miles since I had changed the SST fluid.

In conclusion yes it is a big risk/worry with SST, it is extremely sensitive to old fluid and you need to change it more frequent than the recommended intervals (I think around 30K). I'll be changing mine out every 25K miles from now on. Good luck on whatever you decide, it is a very fun ride and very reliable as a daily driver in all weathers.
