Putting aside discussions on whether a bbk is necessary or not ..

Has anyone tried this yet?

 

ever notice that every thread made in the ralliart forums about bbk's turns into amby telling everyone that they're pointless and a waste of money? and the discussion usually goes on for page after page...
this is how it goes:
OP: hey, has anyone seen this bbk?
amby: that's stupid and pointless. why would you ever spend $xxxx on something as useless as a bbk. you can get better braking by upgrading pads and fluid!!!
OP: but i'm asking about the bbk, not if i can brake better by getting better pads and fluid...

jesus man, take a hint. not everyone wants to hear how incredibly smart you are. these topics are going to come up from time to time, but please restrain yourself from unloading this kind of useless information. if the OP asks if anyone has seen or tried a certain bbk, leave it at that.

 

Notice how every time I'm right? Sorry but I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am. I would hardly call telling someone that despite what their Civic driving friend tells them, a 2000$ BBK is not necessary to get better braking, "useless information". If you're happy pissing money away though, by all means continue to do so.

fyi, i'm not pissing money away on a bbk. my evo brakes just fine the way it is. and you're not right every time. in this case, no one was asking if a bbk was a good idea. they simply asked if anyone had seen/installed it. thus rendering your information completely useless. and i don't care how awesome you think you are. you obviously can't be that cool if you have that much time to type all those useless paragraphs on the internet. crawl out from the basement, get some sunlight, and try to find a girl who's dumb enough to put up with your know-it-all-ness.

 

Notice how my first post addresses their question. It isn't until a few posts later when I mention that you can get better braking (than stock) for less money and not have to deal with buying new rims or anything like that.

whatever man. just know that no matter how much you type in these threads, you're not helping anyone.
i know this doesn't change the way you think or your outlook on life, but i hope to someday influence you to stop giving physics lessons in bbk threads in the lancer forums. it ain't worth it.
so please, move on with your life (if you actually have one).

Yeah you got me, it's an ego trip. Funny how you think my previous comments, which were on the topic of BBKs, were pointless yet here you are, effectively calling me out in a thread.

 

Amby is right. He proved it...like 3 times. He hasn't stated that BBK's are completely worthless. He clearly outlined a set of conditions that would require such an investment. From what I have heard and seen, I think that I am going to look into purchasing a full Big Brake Kit at some point in the future, if I ever plan to track this car. Otherwise, I will be sure to replace my pads with higher quality ones next service. I also already have a better set of Bridgestone tires on my Ralliart. I can tell you that the tires alone did make a world of difference.

By the way, please don't rage in automotive threads. Everything that has been presented so far has been incredibly useful. If you have a personal problem with Amby, there is a forum for that.

yeah, you're right. 8 pages of arguing is totally useful. my problem with you, amby, is that you can't leave well enough alone. there's a time to sit back and accept that you're wasting your words on someone who just doesn't understand what you're saying. you don't always have to have the last word.

If we took that approach, this forum would be dead. You're not just posting to help the OP, you're posting to help everyone else who reads the thread. You're not having a personal, one on one discussion with the OP. If the OP doesn't understand what you're saying, that their problem but if someone else reads it and finds it helpful, your post is worthwhile. Given that this has nothing to do with BBKs however makes this pretty far off-topic.
