With Winnipeg winters I wouldn't take a chance personally.
factory all seasons on our SUV are dunlops i think. we drove it through 3 winters before buying winter tires, and it doesn't even have ASC or TCS.

What are you talking about? I am totally jealous of the east coast "snow". Just kidding.

Sorry for being a jick. I grew up skiing on east coast "snow" so I know what you're going through.

Yeah and you also know how good the snow is out there now, it makes you think about how the good the times you had on the east coast would have been out west. Your lucky, enjoy it.

i use my summers from easter till remembrance day at the latest. if the temps hit around zero celcius/32F at night before then i change to winters sooner. summer only tires are like pucks in cold weather.

i just got 4 Continental DWS 225/45/R18 I'm putting on the stock rims tomorrow. Hopefully those last me through the winter, I didn't want to waste the money and room storing two sets of tires for winter and summer. The continental dws's are on backorder everywhere it looks like from all the glowing reviews, so I was lucky to find them shipped for $550. Also u get a new tomtom gps if you buy 4 before Sept. 12 and mail in the form

I'm really hoping to store the RA for the winter, and run a beater civic or something, but if my eclipse doesn't sell (I can't have 3 cars), I will run the OEM wheels with some sort of winter rubber.

I can attest to this. I had my stock Dunlops and ended up going into a snowbank :'( $900 for a new bumper, or fork over cash for winter tires... i'll go with the latter option

I didn't pickup winter tires last winter, and the results weren't always pretty. I was saved by the AWD on more than one occasion.
This winter I'll get cheap 17's and hopefully Blizzak or something sticky like that.
