Hello, I too have been having trouble finding small wheels, tires for gravel/snow use
what is the smallest size wheel that will fit over the evo x brembo's .. i'd also prefer 15,16,17 ish .. something with a closed in concept so rocks and snow don't get jammed inside. I tend to drive a lot of back country / logging roads in the winter to access xc ski trails.

My old volvo did every well even with it being a V70R with 5.1" clearance. but snow would pack in the wheels and once out on the highway id end up getting violently shakey. id have to stop and and dig out the snow and ice. (not fun)

http://www.teamdynamicsracing.com/pr...lly1silver.htm

something similar to this. possibly even more closed in. with the highest profile tire i can get 55,65 etc

any ideas?

thx

The 15" rally wheels from Braid, Team Dynamics and Enkei will fit the Ralliart.

And for those that don't know, you can not get a Gravel Rally tire larger than 15" STI's and EVO's run group N brakes to get the most brake 'ability' and still fit a 15" wheel.

I Have a guy giving me some brakes.

Its not really the brake rotor that is the problem its the Caliper vs. offset of the wheel yes the guy i know has some rally spec brakes and team dynamics. I want the bronze enkie ones.

So this has kinda been solved.

so if you kit does not go over like 12in rotor and caliper get the correct offset wheel and you should be set.

Update on this thread...
Could not get the guys brakes on time. So I am going with a combo choice.
I am going With: "EBC Brakes GD7379 3GD Sport Rotors Slotted and Dimpled"
And a 6 piston Caliper from Wilwood the rotors are only 10.9in so this setup should let me have my 15' I want.

Found this old tread and thought I would add some pictures of 15" rally wheels fitting over ralliart stock brakes. These are Braid wheels are available from Team Illuminata Motorsports.

looking at what the pro's WRC and such use for wheels + tires show what really WORKS, only real reason for big wheels are big brakes, no to mention BLING, most of which makes me PUKE!! smaller quality brakes work well as needed in most cases, the evo's oversize wheels and brakes are one reason i was looking ar the ralliart, sportback in particular, but i NEVER have or will purchase a new car without a REAL manual transmission, i really wanted one, now theres not a sportback ralliart new!

Once you have the wheels (and, therefore, the brakes) figured out, there's still one more question: whether to run the OE diameter 195/70/15s, the wider and taller 215/65/15s, or the wider but shorter 205/65/15s. The older Evos are on the last of these. What's best for a 08+ RalliArt or Evo X is still, it seems, an open question.

evo is a rally car, back in the day, tommi mackinen was a fearless evo driver with much success, i loved the sweedish rally 100 mph on SKINNY agressive studded tires, used to be great coverage on speed vision, now mostly nasgarbage

You are entitled to think that modern WRC is garbage, but not to the implied claim that the tires are now wider. Sebastien Loeb is on the same 205s (gravel) and 225s (Tarmac) as Tommi Mäkinen.

US Touring Car Championship is back for 2012, AND they have a Works sponsored Ralliart in the line up! Though that racing series gets like 0 press coverage

WRC gets coverage on the "HD Theater" channel on U-Verse. Alternately, you can watch the race coverage on their website/youtube channel. It's not live, but better than nothing.

Check the rules before you get 265s.
