Wheeeeeels!!!

Got my winter beaters delivered from tire rack today. I literally placed the order tuesday morning and got it today (wednesday). Score one for the rack.

Sparco Assetto Gara black 17x7's with Michelin X-Ice Xi2 215/50R17's. It's pretty light, the set weighs from 39.6 to 39.8 lbs on my tania bathroom scale.

Thats like, 9 lbs less unsprung weight on each corner! Kinda pissed that I didn't think of this last year and put winter tires on the stockies and actually get some good lightweight unsprung mass for the summer. The sidewalls are also stiff as hell for a winter tire on these michelins.

Not a fan of advertising or having my wheels jacked. U guys think I should black out the logos? I did that on the 2nd wheel.

Nice!

9lbs per corner is a great weight loss, and they look good too! It's a win/win

$1300 shipped ground. The reason why I got it overnight (why i always get my TR stuff overnight) is cause they have a center in delaware and another one in CT, both of which are 1 day ground from UPS.

It's like, 50 deg here right now. I'm guessing another month and i'll mount. Can't wait to see how it looks on the car! Im just too lazy to pop it on now just for a quick look.

Nice wheels, but do you really need the weight loss for winter? Why not just get steel wheels? seems kinda expensive for something that'll be covered in snow and salt.

Well, actually the weight loss was just a bonus. I really really wanted steelies but they only come in 16". Part of my problem is that I do a lot of driving up to vermont/new hampshire/upstate ny to snowboard in the winter, esp during big storms. So I needed some heavy duty winter tires but at the same time I'm in NYC, where it's on average like, 30 deg and relatively dry during the winter months and I wanted as responsive a ride as possible.

17's also gave me the most tire options + was cheaper. And as for the wheels... well, they were the ones that are as close to the fitment of the stock wheels as possible (my alignment has been spot on since day one and I didn't want anything affecting it). They were actually the 2nd cheapest pair that fit those specs.

Haha, not a baller. I did the math, since I have to use tires anyway, regardless of winter or summer, I'm not actually spending any extra money on tires. Only the rims, which I can sell later on to recoup some cost.

You're gonna laugh at me but my summer wheels are just the heavy *** stock ones. I do have the continental dws all seasons, which are phenomenal in the rain and ok in the dry. Also very light tires.
