I hadn't looked in there in awhile. Someone really needs to do some heavy cleaning. Although the first post does seem to have accurate information.

The first post was edited some time ago, but some of those P/N's still don't look right.

I made it 2 pages into that thread before I vomited a little...

So... anyway, correct me if I'm wrong but what I got is basically the designation 866 or 530 are for our front pads. It seems like almost all the manufacturers use that.

The rears, however... I've seen manufacturers like carbotech and wagner (fed-mog) use 868 but then autozone lists 868 only for the GTS and the ralliart gets 2 different pads ending in the 1037 designation. From the pics, the 868 has the tab on the bottom and the 1037 has it in the middle, which seems to match what the ralliart has??

So the rears, I'm still confuzed about.

Those numbers are in no way universal. The Carlyle group (owner of Hawk) uses a completely different system (as does I believe Stoptech and a few others). Since I really only buy either Hawk, Ferodo, and Wilwood pads, I have no clue what those numbers mean.

RA brake pads revisited...

Front:
The Friction Material Standards Institute's (FMSI) universally cross-referencable number is : D530
Many automobile and brake manufacturers have different internal part numbers which should cross to the FMSI standard number.

More than you'll ever want to know about who produces FMSI D530 as well as their internal part numbers for this part:

Rear:
FMSI D868.
Hawk's website uses the FMSI as cross-reference to match their HB675:

Other manufacturers info:

They SHOULD, but that can often be difficult to find depending on where you look.

Either way, those P/N's that I supplied for Hawk are correct.

Not in disagreement with you. Hawk, EBC, Ferodo all have a cross-reference to a standard...Don't think I would buy brakes from a manufacturer which doesn't use an FMSI. What I'm saying is butthurt in Soviet Russia or John Doe in the US can use the FMSI to get the correct part.

You only want to do that if there sre onions in the latkas, and the glue is Elmer's brand.

Er... so apparently I have Gorilla brand, not Elmers brand.

I need something I can pop on this weekend and that I can pay for in cash since some idiot left their only credit card at red lobster and forgot to take it with them. Might just drop by the dealer for some OEM...

not to crap on centric products, but when i was shopping for new rotors for my fiance's acura tl, i found centrics as being some of the cheapest rotors on a auto parts website. that said, they prob have different levels of products, but for that matter, i cant think of anybody who is serious about their car running centric products.

also, as far as the acura goes, i got gold finish ebc rotors and green stuff pads (semi-metallic). pretty entry-line, but its a totally stock DD, and i was impressed with the performance. the only thing i dont like is that they are now squeaking.

I ran Hawk HPS pads on resurfaced rotors on my sti and loved the pads. average dust. oh yeah, the ebc combo results in very minimal dust.

i am currently running DBA slotted (not drilled) rotors, fr and back, and am very happy. i was considering putting on stainless steel braided lines, but the brakes feel amazing, so i cant justify new lines right now.

Cool story, broseph.

You do understand that Stop-Tech and Centric are one and the same, right?

I have a set of DBA 4000 rotors for the Evo IX. They cost nearly $450 for just the front set. Are you really going to sit there are tell me and the OP that that is a reasonably option, in this case, considering what they are going to be used for?
