Or a nickle, it needs to be big enough for the rear extender to fit through (the knub is like the size of a nickle/dime/penny/coin).
If I'm lucky I get it back on Saturday, if not....add a few more days (krap I miss my car )

Update:
After being installed on the car for 7 months I'm starting to hear some spring binding.
This is most likely because the roller bearings are dirty and its time to relube them (recomended every 6 months)
I was checkout out Fortune Auto's websit to see if they had updated anything on the 500 series and they have!
I't looks like i'll be upgrading to there new Radial berings which are sealed which should cut down on maintinance.

Me too, the new bearings have been sitting in my car. I blew mine out, so they sent me the new sealed radial ones.
Side note, I find that 1.25 rotations down from full closed is the sweet spot on my set-up (not sure how many clicks, I look at it as being 4-360* of adjustment).

Swapped in my radial bearings this weekend. The older spherical bearing (non sealed) were pretty full of dirt at 8 months on the car. They did not sound good when moving the springs on the coilover. Anyone doing the swap make sure you have an impact wrench electric or air to loosed the top nut. (using a standard wrench or breaker bar just rotates the the shaft/top plate.

While swapping on my Summer wheels/ Tires I decided to clean up the coilovers a little and noticed the rear Stock FA springs powder coating was flaking off and rusting.
The rest of the system looked fine, I may go 9k front / 8k rear ( from 8k f/ 7k r) and go with swift springs this time.
FYI: the FA 500 series for our car use 7" springs front and rear if anyone is looking to order swifts after the fact or want to change up spring rates.

Can you post a picture of the location of the drilled hole? I too am interested to see it. I'm planning to get FA coilovers too and would like to get a hole drilled before installing them. Thanks in advance!

There is another way on the Sportbacks to get the extender's through without cutting into the cars frame.
I just have not had time to find the right bolts yet.
There are 2 side bolts that hold the lower bracing to the frame and go all the way through to the strut compartment. Replacing one of these bolts with a hallow bolt should allow the extender to pass through without cutting the frame. Below is a mock up of the idea.

If you find the right bolts let us know! I have been to busy to focus on it.
I guess the easiest thing to do is order some oem bolts to find the right thread pitch and size, then either order hollow bolts the same size or have a machine shop drill out the centers of the extra oem ones.
