Do these drop in filters make the legendary, vvrrr-psssstt sound after you let off the accelerator?im not talking about the BOV sound i hope yall know what i mean.

im lookingfor a drop in filter, was going to get the HKS one, but i read somewhere that it doesnt make that sound. i know its just a sound but thats what i want. My evo 9 friend has a gruppe-m filter and it makes that noise just wondering if these drop in filters make em too

ps. if someone could please upload a video of their drop in filter sound it would be veryyy much appreciated

I have the HKS filter and it has changed the way the car sounds quite a bit. I can't say I know what sound you're talking about, but if you're looking for the "psssshhhh" sound I think you'll be happy with it. After all it's only about $50.

The best way I can describe my ralliart filter... it turned the engine into a jet. Now it constantly goes BZZZSHHHH really loudly. I'm running 27psi, and I still don't get the blow off sound. I'm not sure I know what sound you're talking about if you aren't talking about a bov sound. If you want an aggressive sound I think you're going to have to go to a SRI.

I have the HKS and honestly it only sounds slightly louder then the stock filter. If I drive with the windows down and no other cars around I can slightly hear the pssshh wooosh but just barely if I listen hard. If u want that noise get an intake.

Here is a comparo between a Cosworth Air Filter and an HKS....Well since it will not link.

http://www.***************/forums/sh...ad.php?t=18641

"Hi guys, got some Cosworth drop in dry/Hi flow filters (No oil needed) for your Evo X
We did a couple pulls with this filter and another leading drop in filter (resetting ecu/letting car cool down) and we surprised ourselves at the difference..
$45picked up! Add $12 for shipping "

That can't be with a stock Evo given the claimed WHP. Moreover, that's with a turbocharged motor, the air flow there is far more significant than an NA Lancer will need.

Ralliarts will not see the same types of gains as an EVO X would with a drop in filter, and the differences will be even less from maker to maker. For the EVO X, the air filter/intake is a bottle neck; for the Ralliart, the turbo is the bottleneck. Not raining on anyone's parade, here... just saying.

No worries, just posting a HKS vs Cosworth comparison of the filter and their flow capabilities.
