2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap
Even without the recent v2.6 map testing, it's been hard slog - I've been trying to get some halfway-acceptable boost control going. Endless fun.
If I just run on the GST Base Map as-is, the wastegate duty cycle settings result in excessive initial boost levels after spool-up. Boost also peaks higher at 5000rpm than anywhere else.
Way back in late 2010, I couldn't get through GST's ordering system to buy the actual GST-supplied boost pill. Emails went unanswered, etc. So I bought a (supposedly) AMS boost pill from an Australian supplier. I reckon it's likely the drilled restrictor hole is a bit smaller than the proper pill.
There's also something funny with my Aus ROM (53610010) that flat-out refuses to drop back to the Lower Timing Boundary Map during SST upshifts at WOT. This means my engine is belting through full-noise upshifts with full-noise timing. Apparently, this will push the boost up a bit.
Put all this together, and it's been one big fat learning experience! I've had to walk a real minefield of stock boost tuning pitfalls... I must have tried every combination of numbers there is by now.
And each new release of a basemap from Bryan prompts a huge table-copy frenzy on my part.
But this thread is fat enough already without my diverting it into boost control philosophy. I'll go find my "Aussie RA Tweaking & Tuning" thread and blurt out what I've learned over there....

1. Select "OpenPort 2.0 (J2534/CAN/EvoX)" radio button
2. Select "CAN 2006+/EvoX" check box
3. Under the "Select ECU" Drop-down, select "mode23 USA RA EVOX"

Still doesn't work.... Mode 23 is enabled I tried almost all of the ecu drop down and only one that reads semi good is EVOX CAN MUTIII
is there something I should check in the XML file?

I cant find the XML definition file for 2010 AUS/EDM RA. In this link only the 2009 models are listed. http://goldenevo.com/

Do I need the definition file first in order to make the first step and read out and backup the original ROM ?

Yo B, any update on the 2.6? And I noticed you were gonna help the UR guys do a map for them if they wanted to log their Turbo back? Think we can tweak mine if I can log my RA with a TP? I dont have a wideband at the current moment but as you saw on the dyno it was Hella Rich.
One question about shifting in Normal-auto.... Yea I know that mode shouldn´t be use....
But my car is daily driver and I drivre most of time in Normal-auto and my wife drives always in that mode.
So is there anything to do with that quick upshifting to 6th gear.
Our speed limit in urban ways are 35-40mph and car in that mode uses 6th gear at that speed. Rpm´s are about 1500..... Not very nice to drive.
5th gear is Ok in that speed.... about 2000rpm
So can that basemap be modified at it doesn´t shift so early to bigger gear???
