Ouch. And if the engine had blown because of it they would simply have blamed it on the initial tune! That's dirty.

I'd honestly not even attempt to go to the dealer with a custom tune flashed into the ecu. i'd load my stock flash and keep it outta boost on the way there and back home.

Yep that happened to me today, Went in for recall number 4 which was for some airbag sensor that needed to be replaced. I got my AWC Flash that showed up with the recall from the Mistu Dealership and driving the car home it is definately stock ECU flash put back by the dealership.

I'll check my ECU. My car still handles like my Stage 1 flash.

tHE AWC FLASH IS DONE ON THE TCU NOT THE ECU. YOUR FLASH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED. IF IT WAS, THATS THE DEALERS ERROR AND THEY SHOULD BE PAYING YOU FOR A NEW ONE. BUT THE LIKELYHOOD IS SMALL

No Worries, I'll flash it back myself with the cable. I knew they were going to do that when they said "we are going to re-flash the car". Funny they didn't put aftermarket parts on the service report they were fine with it. But when I had the car in NY the dealer put that in BIG bold letter aftermarkets parts installed may void warranty.

The Burning smell some of you experienced with the AWC Re-Flash, I am getting the same thing. But i think it goning away I don't smell it as much. Starting to wonder about Mitsu and their cars for the New Ralliart Line with 4 recalls and Re-Flash. For what these cars cost we should have a somewhat trouble free ride. Never had all these issues from my previous car and it ran great until the day I traded it in and it was loaded with aftermarket. But still will hang in there and hopefully no more recall notices in the mail...

i think the smell is related more to the fuel line recall. I had that done about a week ago. and when i got it back it did smell. but since then the smell has gone away and never come back.

U might be right about the smell, cause I did the fuel rail and the awc at once... And the AWC is a software change whereas the fuel rail is a physical change.

Going to reiterate that 2 recalls (fuel rail and airbag) and 1 service campaign (awc flash) is not problematic; my A4 (b5 body) had 7 recalls and 42 TSB's/Service campaigns.

My question is if anyone noticed a difference when in 4th and then go WOT if the car still shakes on hard acceleration. does the AWC flash get rid of this?

Strange you should say that. My car does the same. Only in 4th gear and only at WOT in a certain rpm range.
