Does an upgraded FMIC require a retune?

I have a stock RA right now, with the GST boost pill and associated flash. I want to start the ball rolling for a future turbo swap, was going to start with the FMIC and hard IC piping. Will this require a custom tune, or should be fine as is?

I understand that intake/exhaust will require a tune, so if the aforementioned requires one as well, I'll savfe myself some tuning $ and just do intake/IC at once.

Thanks for the answers...

It should be perfectly fine. I've had an evo x+ ur pipes for almost a year now with no problems. Although like most things added it needs a tune to be fully affective.

Yeah, I'm not looking for power gains off this *yet*, it is just a step before I put the real power goodies on.

I've been running untuned with an EvoX intercooler and hard pipes for a few months, no issues.

It does not require a tune, but you will see a lot better gains when you do get a tune. Definitely a nice upgrade to get early on while you build up to all the parts that need a tune. =)

i had the ic and piping on for like a week before my tune with no issues. I dont really see the point in adding them on separately though. might as well wait for the turbo and stuff and install/tune it all at once.

but i do know how hard it is to see it sit there and want to install it.

Its just a matter of acquiring the parts without blowing mad cash all at once. Plus, the inner ricer boy wants to hear more turbo hisses and wooshes that you get with the hard pipes :-)

Just since they need to be done in order to properly accommodate the X turbo, it is just step 1 in the list.

Does the hard pipes make that much more noise?

Definitely a lot more noticeable with the sound turned off when you let off the gas!

Between the uicp and the licp. Which one should be better for more noise?

Is it even more noise than when you put in a new air filter?

Could not really say, as I did them both at once. The LICP gives the most gain power wise though, but is also the harder one to install. So that is more likely to be a deciding factor for most. =)

Yes quite a bit more in my experience anyway. With the radio turned off, I can hear a pretty loud swoooosh when I left off the gas after accelerating. =)
