AMS Hi Flow Cat installed Yesturday

Very clean and simple install. Especially with 2 people. Took about an hour. Drove 200 miles on it so far and no CELs. Everything fit perfectly. Stock cat and bolts were disgusting.

What should I do with the stock cat?

Keep it just in case. Do you have the rest of the exhaust installed or only the HFC.

Keep it it cost a lot man. Also, you never know you might need to revert back to stock.

Right now, I have just the HFC, I'm stuck on whether or not I want the AMS exhaust. It's my favorite sounding exhaust I've heard, but it just looks a little too ricey.

I have the AMS Catback and I love the sound it has. My Next thing on the list is to get the HFC. It does not sound ricey at all. I had to trust my decision that it was going to sound good and I wasnt dissapointed at all when I put it on.

Just a little bit, nothing too drastic, but I haven't really gotten a chance to really jump on it.

I just broke down last night and bought their exhaust. From the videos I've seen it sounds great, I just didn't really like the look lol.

I notice a much louder exhaust note when I added the hi flow after the cat back.
I'm in need of a custom tune badly! The Exhaust looks sick from any side view of the car.
It looks a little different looking straight on from the back though, but I've gotten used to it. And like the note.

Although It drones cruising at above 60mph. Below that however, its pretty tame.

He won't see the full effects of a HFC without a tune. That is the plug in the stock exhaust, if he gets a tune he should notice some huges gains. I think it was GTS motorsports who dynoed with and without a cat and picked up almost 40whp without the cat on an evo x.

Personally, I say get a HFC. You get some good gains, and are still friendly to the environment at the same time. I have a personal problem with test pipes. When I had mine it always burned my eyes from the fumes at stop lights. I didn't like the smell, and I didn't like being worried around cops (all it takes is to gas it by a cop and they can smell it). But you're in florida. I don't think you guys have emissions laws there? If the smell / eye-burn doesn't bother you... get a test pipe.

HFC might be slightly quieter... I doubt it'd be noticeable though.

It's not necessary... but ideal. I don't know about the RAs but the X comes extremely detuned out of the factory. Rich as a pig's ***. It won't kill it to run a test pipe, but you'll get a lot more out of it to get it tuned with a test pipe.
